I spent a while looking around and grabbing updates to programs. Here is what I came up with:
So I've tried to grab the latest stuff for this, please forgive me if it's outdated. I'm going to look at a program that launches all this for us. Perhaps an updater too. For now, some tools.
FL SDK v1.5b: The Freelancer SDK project from the starport. (Decodes all of the BINI into INI files)
Flmm installer: Freelancer Mod Manager. Install file.
Freelancer Explorer: Makes systems. Good for the beginner modder.
HardCMP: Very useful program, especially for hardpointing.
Starsphere utility: Looks funky.
UTF Editor: For making and editing CMP, 3DB, MAT files etc etc.
Discovery Launchpad: Fantastic launcher for Disco.
Freelancer Mod Studio: Looks like a decent replacement to Explorer, but without the station editor last time I checked.
Under Modelling Programs, I included:
All-Ships: All Vanilla ships in MS3D format.
Gmax: I used this to leapfrog up to 3DS Max. A good starter program.
Metasequoia: A favourite by some of our expert modellers. The 2413 is SHAREWARE. The 24a is FREEWARE. Take your pick.
Milkshape: Though now outdated by the new CMP exporter for 3DS max, I included the install file because of the number of .MS3D files still floating around. I put in 1.7.6 with the CMP Importer, CMP Exporter, 3db Exporter, MAT Exporter, SUR Exporter. I know they're not the most updated plugins, but I've tested all of these and they all work. Finding a serial for the program is your responsibility. If you see fit to buy it, by all means do so.
What I didn't include and why:
I left out any and all server side programs, as this is not a pack designed for them. I also left out tutorials, due to copyright issues. Both of these can be found with ease using google. I did not include what I would consider 'speciality modding programs'. For the more advanced modding, I would expect you to be able to find said programs yourselves, and if I included every program out there for freelancer this pack would be 20 gigs.
This is aimed at providing all you need to really start doing some very basic Freelancer Modding and some extra programs to enhance your Freelancer experience. Nothing more. Nothing less.
All programs, plugins and various other things I've thrown in here belong to their various owners. I claim no ownership, responsibility or otherwise anything to do with them. I just picked out what I thought was the best and put it into a modding pack smaller than 200 megabytes.
Massive thanks to the-starport.net and thelancersreactor, without which I would have had a lot more trouble finding these programs. If any authors object to their program being in this pack, please contact me and I will immediately remove it.
Finally, if anyone wants to take this pack either in parts or in its entirety and repackage it as part of another pack then by all means feel free.
