Since the recent GMG concept was not too popular, i have taken some of the constructive critizism and made a new one. one of the most convincing was the thought that the GMG is "sitting at the source" of fuel and so wouldn t care much for how efficient or inefficient the engines work - as long as they have a HUGE power output.
further important was some sort of shielding against the gas clouds blasts. - and the last idea was to make something similar to the ravens talon, which is an IMG VHF - and somewhat follows a similar concept ( even if its a star wars ship )
so that one is the result. - i have ... again used the kusari style cockpit - but that time shielded by two side plates. the ship is basicly mostly a huge twin engine with a small body and 4 small fins. - it is bigger than i expected it to be - but the current "taidan heavy fighter" is a large model anyway. - so, expecting feedback about that concept. - time s running out for ships to be submitted sooner or later.
edit: i likes the other concept, cause it was more original... this one is quite conservative and boring.

I like this design and i dont think it looks anything like a bomber. I can see how peeps might think it might be with the shielding and all but as your concept suggests its there for a reason. If the engine fins where just a tad shorter i think it would be the dogs b****x :D
Yup. Cockpit would have to be thinner for it to look fighterish.
Maybe try to remove those two plates and show us, just to compare it? I think it'd look much better without those.
Also, maybe just a tiny bit thinner engines would contribute as well.
Other then that, much more GMGish then the last one. Good job.

Oh don't start it here! I'v told you a zillion times that you can't generalize things like that.
I, for example, find HF's very useful. So, how do they exactly suck?
Suck because you don't know how to use them? Or suck because you can't mount codes?
Or suck because you don't know their role?
Nvm, just comment on ship, let's not turn this into one more 'balance chit-chat'.

Have you ever considered mounting an engine above and another engine below the cockpit?
That might be a good idea to break away from IMG design...
If you dont want to try it though, please try to make it look sleeker, though I like those side plates. Perhaps one above and slightly shadowing the cockpit instead of or in addition to the plates that are already there?
