By the way what define a trader?...

I am zoner and got a transport, but i don't have a trader ID, i think i must be treated as a ZONER instead of as a TRADER.

What about corsair traders, why pirates don't bother them?

The corsairs don't like seeing traders in their space, unless the trader or the faction of the trader also helps the corsairs out with needed goods. It's quite obvious that corsairs don't bother corsair traders, since they are their brothers and sisters. Corsair traders can still be pirated by other pirate factions.

If you want to know how to avoid being pirated by corsairs, you should check out some threads on this forum. It's all there, but most people are just too lazy to do some research, and start to whine the moment it doesn't go as planned. These players only care about getting as many credits as possible.

If you are also one of the lazy fellas, then just avoid corsair space.

Everyone flying a transport or freighter is considered a trader. Unless they use their ships for other means (in example a prison liner).

I *try* to get pirated...sadly, I don't get many opportunities. Most pirates just let me go or ignore me. What's a girl got to do to get pirated around here!!!!

Though, whoever Sinbad is...I give him kudos. He pirated my Bretonian Lux Liner with a CSV. Awesome..was scared there for a minute or two.

I quite like geting pirated, but I trade so rarely that it almost never happens. Gives me a chance to actualy do something while on my trader, like try to run away...

The ID denotes your ingame faction, not your role. So for example a Transport with a Zoner ID. That player is a Zoner by faction, but is also a trader by role. The same is true of other IDs for example Bretonia Mining & Metals - a player with that ID could be either a trader, a miner, or a fighter (escort) but all have the same ID. The 'Trader ID' isn't the only ID that a person can be a trader with - it's really "Independent Trader ID - This player acts as a trader but is not a member of any NPC faction".

No longer active online due to a dwindling amount of non-PvP (trading, pirating, mining, etc.) fun in the new version.

Either they roleplay as idiots, or something else...

"I have donated over 25,000,000 to your children today!"
"Then you die"

WTF?

Lmao, I've done that before.... when they say donate, they actually mean "Give me some goddamn money NOW!" not "I have sick dying children"

@ caylith: Who's your trader? I've only got one pirate character ... the Black.Pearl. This vessel spends about 95% of the time in Sigma 13 and the other 5% in nearby systems. Although every now and then he'll venture out to chase down an obnoxious trader.

When I'm on a trade run, and I see "Halt!" in system chat, I don't necessarly assume it's directed at me--especially when I don't see anyone in my radar. For all I know, it could be directed at someone clear on the other side of the system! My inclination is to continue on my way until and unless I actually see the person who is speaking. It would be really nice if pirates could actually address the pilot they would like to stop by name, or is that wishful thinking?

I've been wondering about something else, too...after going to a lot of trouble to make several "unlawful" factions neutral to me, I'm still getting pirated by them...what's up with that?

That's ok ... most traders don't realize a pirate is talking to them until they notice their shields going down. Then all of a sudden the trader wakes up and starts screaming.

Okay, I have a question.

Say a Zoner ID'd trader with no IFF is doing Diamond-Niobium (oorp?).

I pirate him, and he turns around and tells me my docking rights at all freeports are revoked.

Is he right?
