so... blank systems

hm... probably because:
a) Most players are hostile to most guard reps other than their own.
b) Guard system bases carry no commodities, most dont carry any weapons or ships either.
c) Guard system bases dont buy any commodities for decent prices.
d) there's no missions in guard systems, and most dont have anything interesting there.

The exception to D is omicron 85, with that whole black hole and corsica thing, it looks cool if you can find it... but a lot of guard systems are really just a blank area with a base and a jump hole or two. Not much work was put into making the system 'look' cool.

Kinda makes me happy that both of my main faction guard systems had so much stuff put into them. Omicron 100 has four bases and two jump holes along with all the little tunnels going through the asteroid fields, and it has some background to it concerning one of the planets and bases.

Puerto Rico has four bases - one of them a shipyard, two asteroid fields, two jump holes, and the rift... which is almost as cool as a black hole =P

What does the rift do if you fly into it? I tgink they should also put some more wrecks in these systems, maybe add some new RP items? Like if you look at the datacodes list in the game files there are items like " Secret military plans" and " Secret base map" tink they should have a use or at least a place in the next mod.

the rift is just a nuetron star, you take killer radiation damage if you go anywhere near it (like, within 20k your hull starts to visibly melt, even in a capship), and if you get too close it's like running into a planet.

Its not just a neutron star.. The neutron star can be found in Omega-41. The black hole is MUCH different. In real life and in this game.. And saying that its just a neutron star with a big radiation field doesn't give Nightfall the credit he deserves.. I was talking to him about modding as he was making that black hole, and it took him 2 weeks to do.

I like the guard systems. They can be used effectively inRP.

But I wouldn't mind seeing some guard bases scattered among the populated systems that give missions out. HARD missions. And the bases would of course be way off the beaten path.

There will be probably trade routes someday going in to guard systems, that will liven them up, Also they are very useful, when it comes to combat training and such, you can really go there, and nobody is allowed to bother you while you train...

Oh.. I believe Commodore made that system, which is why I stay far, far away from it.. If I'm wrong.. I'm probably still going to stay away from it as I have no chars that need to be there.. ANYWAY. Puerto Rican rift < Omi-85 Black Hole.
