ok after been asked for tax in meg i got to dublin the lane hack still wanted tax i still would not pay him having docked and sold my cargo right now he kills me in dublin so fair anuff now i go back to meg and hes asking for tax again and even fired on me now one of the rules is no re-engaging for 4 hr so whats going on i hav ss if u need them

the 4 hours rule does only apply to a pvp, not to a trader / pirate encounter. - however, there are two things that went a bit funny it appears.

the first one is that the hacker indeed followed up to dublin, which is a fair bit away from their zoi. - they CAN do that, but it better be worth it. - the other thing is that you came back.

look upon it from a RP point of view. - your ship was destroyed. - how would you make it back - not only alive and healthy, but also in a new ship. - so if a 4 hours rule applied, it would have applied to you, - not the hacker ( but then again, this rule is not effective with traders )

nothing with that encounter - as you describe it - went wrong or was a violation of a rule. a pirate can engage a trader as often as he likes, - BUT he has to ask for money or anything worthy before he actually destroys the trader - AND the request must be reasonable. ( so no "give me 50 million or die" stuff )
