lets get some halflife 2 modders here, and create bars/stations/planet surfaces using freelancer design and textures, then replace character models with models from freelancer.
Could have some decent ground-based RP then. Have a junker station server running, and a server/map for each house capital planet (new berlin, new london, new tokyo, manhattan, crete, malta), and have a couple contested areas where players of each affiliation can have hosted ground battles or ship/station takeovers.
It'd be cool to just have a 'bar' onboard a station to RP at, converse with other players on the station, maybe have a bar fight with blaster pistols =P

Even if Trent were everywhere, why doesn't he talk, like while scanning a ship or docking with stations. Also, it would be nice to have some chat commands like "Roger", "Enter Formation" etc. It would be easier than typing it in the private chat.
Manpower is required when you are doing something physical. But when it comes to modding, knowledge and creativity are really the ones we should have.
Moreover, there are plenty of female LSF officers in Manhattan. Why not ues them.
Not only that, we can just take the head portion of the people in bars for players. Choosing the character required can be added as an option in discovery activation.
But all this would make Discovery itself a separate game!
heeh playing as a GC with the character "trent" is rather, wierd... it would be nice to be able to select your own Character/Faction at least... thats my opinion... if its do-able or not is another matter, and since im not that well versed in that department i cant say anything about it.
