I'd have to say no. Maybe donuts as some or the other food ration, eye patches, what the hell? This ain't jahar-ski land. And treasure maps? Well. There's one thing that can describe how i think about that.
This idea was so...Off, that it destroyed the first poster.
C'mon, this isn't pirates of the caribbean online or something.
' Wrote:Can we please please please (I really am serious) create ONE new commodity for the upcoming mod called "donuts" and have one of the police depots by Newark have them as cargo inside?
I think it would be a nice touch and really give Disco that cool unique feeling for new players.
Imagine, you log on, you're new, you blow up the police depot and the cargo is "donuts". Wouldn't that make you want to stay on this server?
The pirate depot in Omicron Delta could have "treasure maps", "eye patches' or "rum".
It would be really awesome if one other donut commodity came in a fancy type type like "Jelly Filled" and was only dropped by the Wild scorpions in the Omegas and would sell for huge profits at any house police stations.
Listed in order of importance for your perusal...thank you.
Wouldn't it be great getting pirated? "Drop those eye patches now!" "Hand over the donuts smuggler!" "I'll be taking yer treasure map mate!"
All i have to say is, Signed.

The Donuts and rum would be perfect, the rest were teases.
I would like Lucky Charms to be sold at Arranmore so that when pirates are after me I can shout, "Help! They're after me lucky charms!"
I actually think every depot ought to have something in it that makes player's roleplay include them. Cardamine depots at Malta, Artifact depots at Crete, etc.
But the Wild really should drop the rare "Jelly Filled Donut" that is unpurchasable elsewhere.
INFOCARD
JELLY FILLED DONUT
This rare confection was once common on earth but upon arrival in Sirius it was discovered that none of the sleeper ships had brought yeast. To this day, scientists have striven throughout Sirius to recreate old earth beer, bread and, yes, even donuts.
The results have been less than stellar. With only alien organisms and genetically engineered synthetic proteins to work with, yeast has proven impossible to fully replicate. This remained true for several centuries until a lone freelancer discovered a strange blue mold that grew only on rocks and asteroids in an unknown system in the Omegas. The substance served every purpose that yeast was needed for and it was especially effective at mimicking the taste of both bread and sugar. When mixed properly and exposed to a process the freelancer never revealed, the resulting confections not only tasted genuinely sweet but when filled with the processed blue "jelly" also provided a euphoric sense of extreme well being.
Alas, the system where the freelancer based his processing factory was not uninhabited. Just before the outbreak of the great Nomad war, infected humans--who we know now as the Wild--discovered his station. Though heavily defended it was utterly destroyed and the secret of the cooking process was lost when the freelancer was dragged away screaming by the Wild. Some say he lives on as an infected human--no one knows for sure--but a lone weapons platform remains at the former location of his station--a reminder of sweeter days.
And I see something like this coming - simply cannot imagine the French house without vine or champagne...
It is already hard to live in Bretonia without ale and whiskey, in Rheinland without a beer. Of course Kusari should offer some sake too.
Cheers,
Jane
oh and that is also signed with cause i agree:P

The code for this would not take very long to make, but you stand no chance of getting it included because of balance. To properly balance a new commodity takes hours of work, which I am beting the Dev team does not have very much to spare.
What you could do is pitch the idea of "roleplay" commodities. Basically all these are is an Icon, a handful of code and an info card. They would have a uniform buy/sell price and basically only exist for roleplaying.
