Understandable, but there appears to have been a lot of work put into the snubnose.
I know for a fact, having fought against it, that Mariko refuses to let it be blown up, for instance, since it is salvaged.
Also; there was no openness saying what these other factors were. There was no saying 'this is disallowed for X reason'. Hell, you're utterly within your rights to deny it, but letting us know why will help future 'Special RPs' work better.
Also; the reasoning Psi-Borg gave, appeared somewhat based on PvP, and his story revolved around a single, short, post. To be honest, this doesn't bother me. However, the snubnose was denied in spite of having a long, rather complex story around it. Also: This snubnose could easily be replaced by the Red Catamaran, a brokenly good ship, without a special RP.
@hoodlum: i don t know what the problem is - nither was any decision critizised nor were those deciding about it critizised in any non civlized way. - what we asked for is transparency. - to know "why" something happens and why not. if there are other factors - ... now thats awesome, thats what i d suspect. - but what are those factors? - it d be only beneficial for everyone to know what other factors there are.
personally, i couldn t care less for "special" chars, as i do not have a special char, nor care for it much. - so, again, if someone or some part is denied, - it would be *nice* to write up why that is so - otherwise you simply get down to the old comparison like "he can, why can t i" - and thats a justified question if you don t know what factors are actually making a decision.
maybe its just my education there. - since i got a teacher education - i always have to justify myself about any decision. when i give someone an "A" - i have to say why i think its worth an A. when i give someone a "D" i also have to say why i think its horrible. - i cannot just write a "D" under an exam without telling the person why he deserved it.

Exactly! That's the point!
Without explanations this whole thing looses it's purpose and we can go back on the old.
And you can just fine anyone you want for being OORP, and not fine someone else.
Since for all we care, it's all the same as it is now.

I have to say that reading Psi-Borg's request...
He admits he wanted it because he kept getting beaten in PvP
A justified reason... no, yet an immediate acceptance
Now I haven't read much of other's requests... like this one
But from what I've heard in these threads is that
A. The admins have broken their own rules
B. They're favouring some people and factions over others
For instance the Harvesters are a very strict RP group, the best I've seen infact, and every part of the background is well thought out. I've spoken with scorn on vent and most of what he said went over my head because its so detailed.
However, i don't condone his flaming on the forums.
If Psi-borg can have his pwnmobile just to win PvP then others should be allowed too aswell. Give it to all or none, this just isn't fair.
Note: I don't need a special roleplay allowance, but as a outside observer, it seems unfair to those which do
I feel I have to agree here. Proper reasons should be given for each controversial post. It seems to me that it's only those that the admins want to get approved, that do. I thought it was supposed to be a player-input thing. Please, correct me if i'm wrong.
gosh....this going to get ugly....they don't explain because they don''t have to. Its likt telling God to explain disease....he could, but he won't. some get them, some don't. simple huh?
alsoon a side note...its RP, really you can do anything, you just have to fancy a way to make it work.....I've got a Xenos with an Inferno, it cost him a great amount of cash and took pages of RP, I didn't use the Special Char thread, not sure if there was one then....but its a matter of showing your ability then actually sticking to it...or it was for me. Hell I even got sanctioned my first Inferno right offa my ship, ask Xoria, heh. Flames are pointless....don't like it? Take it up with yor Union Rep, maybe you can go on strike or something....heh.
The admin are not gods they are volunteers that are supposed to help make things run smooth not push personal preference. The special RP forum is supposed to be a player input devise not churade to show case acceptance to thier friends or the popular.
people are very very quick in labelling critizism as "flames". - really, asking for an explanation of a decision is not a flame in any way. - it expresses interest in the process. - it was even said that we d approve any ( --> any! ) decision they make... as long as they explain why they do it.
so, i don t think any of those that get parts of their RP denied will start to run amok and cry out "unfairness"... at least they will not do when they are told what other factors are there that led to the decision - and as long as those factors are "reasonable" - which comes down to common sense. ( ahh, great term, means so much and at the same time nothing at all )
and i do believe that it should be the custom to explain. - the community is not a one sided thing. - its a give and take. players give their share on their RP and are right to expect an equally respectful and detailed explanation - as it is asked form them to be as detailed as possible, too.
' Wrote:i don t know why its so hard for those that claim the power to decide over others to provide transparency when it comes to their decisions.
You know why, we all know why.
The whole special RP forum is a joke anyway. The admins started, for once, to do the right thing and apply the same rules to everyone, a few community members whined and cried, and now it's back to simply playing favorites.

Unfortunately, you're not far off from the truth here.
Exactly the reason I said we should "try" the Special RP sub-forum in that age old 40+ page discussion topic.
If the admins are going to play favorites, and not give logical reasons "why" certain setups are dissaproved, banhammer everything.
