I think you were trying to do good, but he just didnt get it. I suspect either, A english is not his native language and he wasnt understanding fully, or B He was just completely clueless and needs a wake up call.

all i have to say is that i agree with you balthazzar ( i see lots of them everyday through hoikkaido) and i simply do not have the time to tell them all, so i ask for a bigger donation instead.

I've seen a bunch of people like that out there...They start cruising around blowing things up in Zoner and Outcast Destroyers or spouting OOC into system chat, and when I ask them about it, they just tell me to leave them alone...If there's an Admin on I ask them to talk to the person, but if not there's not a lot you can really do, unless the resident player faction happens to be handy with Bombers or Battleships and you can catch them doing something really OoRP for their Tag/ID (that's where the big faction guns come in). I don't post reports, if it needs to be done I usually let one of the older players do it because they're meaner than I am, but sometimes I get really tempted...

the problem i see with this is that the community ignores this new guys.

The problem is, the do the niobium run whilst carrying police tag. To few people tell them to change their tag.
So its natural that they believe that its ok to just set up your ID and ship.

I think he understood me but believed i was wrong all the way. I would like to start the initiative of making the new guys more conscious about faction policies.

Edit: by initiative i mean i want the community to participate in this "enlightenment"

Honestly? Why bother report them when they'll likely ditch us in a week or two.

Why waste energy?

The police tag is really hard *not* to get, considering it starts... What, two or three bars from full? Thats like... Three Rogue kills.

I find it interesting that NOW the Police tag is an issue when I've seen hundreds of different ships with such a tag in my time here. It really wasn't a problem a year ago for default characters, I don't know that it should be now.

Police tag - Generic (Trader) ID.
Police tag - Generic (Mercenary) ID.
Police tag - Generic (Miner) ID.

Stay online for about an hour, I guarantee you'll see all of these within that time just hovering outside of Manhattan. It's been going on for forever now... Have you just recently noticed that your breathe? Or that there are trees outside? (Not meant to be condescending, just an analogy) The Police tag is used as a default lawful tag for generic ID'd players.

It'd be even more OORP to go explode their depots to get rid of it, so why worry so long as they aren't Pirate ID'd or some such?

Because in RP, not everyone sees it that way. Rienland for example would not take too kindly to a police IFF ship poking around in their space
