Zoner Guard Tag

I think zoner and order guard tags are probably the most difficult to get right now...
Unless there's a freelancer guard faction, but I dont think there is.

Zoners have no missions, Order only gets one mission at a time for the entire faction. It took me a good month or two to get my Order guard tag on Aki... I even had to work out some 'deals' with the outcasts and other groups to get permission to land on their bases so I could drop their rep by abandoning missions.

Yeah, that was exactly the kind of problem I was thinking of <clutches face and sobs>. You might ask why put myself through the pain? Well from what I understand, in 5.85 Zoners will be restricted to Fighters and Traders up to cargo size 4200, only Zoner Guards will be allowed bigger ships, please correct me if I'm wrong here. So it looks like I'll have to scrap one of my chars Zoner Dessie.

zoner guard is difficult to get i have 2 characters with it, the easiest way i found to do it was after get zoner rep maxed was to fail both order and gmg missions till zoner was almost red and get the double bribe again that should put zoner guard as well as zoner at max. after doing that if just takes patience to keep zoner guard right next to your taged rep and lower each one down to neutral by failing missions for the major ones, when your ready just lower the zoner rep (or which ever one you have the tag for down to neutral) and bang zoner guard tag.

then the fun begins by doing the balancing act of lowering or raising all your reps that you can to the neutral range

oh side note killing xenos also lowers zoner rep for some reason.

I didnt immediately aim to get a guard tag with Aki, so I spent a long time blasting bounty hunters in the omicrons... as a result, I ended up green with something like a dozen different factions, including outcasts, dragons, GC, and junkers. Xenos, gaians, corsairs, zoners, and GMG were also on the list.

Had to drop rep with all of them to get the order guard tag up.

I think you can use gunboats without a guard ID as well, i'm not sure about cruisers.

wow, I took the easy way to get my Order Guard rep.
It pays to have a friend with a Character everywhere.

I just did alot of Order missions until Guard full green. I dropped the Order regular and got a Xeno tag. I put Order from White to full green and again dropped one mission of Gaian, Kishiro, IMG, Corsairs and AFA again to get Guard to second. (Group with friend and he gets mission for you to drop)
I went to Colorado and then dropped my Xeno rep and got my guard tag. 1 Day tops.

Also, Zoner Guard requires lots of bribing. There is a Quad Bribe somewhere my friend mentioned though.

In the end it gets back down to the "It's hard to get a guard tag"

To get Guard tag you must have both full green. Regular and Guard. If you have Guard second and say Corsairs third.
If you drop regular you will get Corsairs next even when they are third. Then you gotta get the regular back to full green and get the Guard back to second and drop your current tags rep. Then Guard will be your new tag.

It doesn't hurt to ask Yoda about how he got his.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to offer advice and comment here, it seems there's a number of ways to achieve the Zoner Guard status and I have decided to try one.. It's Discovery after all.. And it looks like there are a few other threads on this topic, so I'll let this one drop now, hope it's been of use to anyone else interested.
