his english doesn't bother me. i'm sure our french is many times worse..
ps - and Seth Karlos ideas on the RP potential of capships are very true. they are huge and lots of fun to imagine just what would you do/think with so much power under your heels.
I also got me a ship of capital class and must say, it was the best decision for my roleplay ever.
I got some nice to uber-great encounters in my trader ship, but when it comes down to my Battleship; heck, iam playing my whole ship (1 captain, 7 Officers, 80 Soldiers, 120 Crewmen) and also talking as my officers in-character.
So it can happen, that the captain is giving order, the Navigation officer copied, is setting course, etc... I must agree with Seth about how to play such a big ship.
Besides, also my Gunboat and my train have a crew (gunboat=1 captain, 4 officers, 20 crewmen), (train= 1 captain, 3 crewmen)
And it works well for me.
Only problem i got is, that some players think it is a great job to kill a single battleship or a single cruiser with a couple of bombers... after the fight, the bomber pilot think they are the greatest heros, but what they did wasnt really a good showoff of roleplay, as i think it would be normally suicide to attack a battleship with 2 bombers (lets compare a bit: 1 bs = USS Iowa , 2 bombers = 2 torpedoboats => who do you think will win?, the torpedo boats with their torpedos or the battleship, with its main turrets, its anti-ship rockets, its close-range chainguns and such...)
I also didnt wrote any story for my ships, but iam about to do so, and untill they are finished, I will try to show in-game i can manage this ships.
See you around. And be nice, we have big guns and love the law.
[And if you see us and just come for your kill and you wont roleplay, expect from us that we just dock, give our crew a break (and just dont play with you, because iam like more to save my ships instead of letting it get destroyed).]

Thats quite interesting, as I have always imagined a GB to have a crew no greater than 5 or 6. When you look at the scale of them, it seems to me that they couldn't hold many more people.
In terms of roleplaying a cap ship. I find it mighty annoying that most people seem to roleplay it as one dude sat up there controlling everything and being the only 'voice' on board.
Also last night I got the RoS's OC dready stuck in omi beta for about 10 minutes, I have mwerte laughing at me and saying "shall we just blow him up? It'd put him back on malta faster". Man I hate flying those things...
Every ship offers excellent potential for RP. Even my new piranha is fun. I even managed to scare a corsair praetorian out of New London with it. Guess it was so long since he'd seen one he was kinda puzzled. I also like the prison liner - the feel that it is a large ship with crew and different sections devoted to separate purposes.
I reckon the problem comes when people acquire them for killing and nothing else. Nothing wrong with the killing part of that; it's the "nothing else" that causes the pain.
