Again, assuming and creating your own ideas here until proper background is released is pointless. The lore is being written and will be done sooner or later. Also you will find that once it comes out, this idea will become relatively pointless as it contradicts some stuff in there. Mindshare is something they need and something they require to function properly, why do you think they were all messed up when it got shut off? Drifting aimlessly through space, in pain and suffering. It's even explained through such things, even without the need for lore, only if one is not lazy and actually tries to look.
So what stops the aimless brains from forming their own temporary mindshare (which might become permanent, or seperated entirely from the main mindshare)? At least a small portion could, its a possibility. Things like this shouldnt be written off, especially if the lore which you refer to hasn't been completed yet.
friendly squishies? no.
how would you tell if the nomad coming towards you is a nice one or not? everyone would run screaming keepers/phantoms/nomads/wilde in bretonia ARRRGH
eventually you'd get bored and start being angry-nomads again.
however, i like the idea of bretonian version of Das Wilde... knowing how polite we brits are they could be called 'little-bit-temperamental':)
it would give some interest to newcastle/edinburgh/dublin to have a small pop. of nomads harrassing traders and pirates alike.
Well, we will see. I still dont think theres any denying that mutations occur with limitless results, whatever lore is published, but Im not going to go head to head with you on this one yet. I just hope the writers dont consider it to be canon when you manage to release it.
I'm wondering why everybody is calling it a mindshare. What happened to Collective? It sounds alot better and it also doesn't sound like we're playing Halo.
Wait...

In any case, I really don't think its necessary. But, given that you really want this to work, PM me, Tenacity. I have some ideas for you that could work within the realm of reason. The posters are being narrow minded at the moment. *shifty eyes*

They do already. But remember that they have no priority interest in traders that are legit or even smugglers. The things that spark their interest is:
Keeper Faction Status Post Wrote:Players who actively hunt Nomads will be listed, shot on sight, and hunted outside of area of regular activity.
Hunting Nomad NPCs (Keepers will defend their own kind without remorse)
Carrying or using Nomad equipment, such as Nomad Blasters, Nomad Thrusters, etc
Carrying Nomad "brains"
Carrying Artifacts (!)
Following ships and other irritating behavior
Traders, being the least concern to the Keepers, are typically left alone unless they behavior provokes hostility. Combat vessels are most likely to be attacked since they pose a threat, the closer vessel to Keepers home territories the more chance of being attacked.

You are kidding right? We are not talking about other aliens here, not Go'uld, not anything else we are talking about nomads who have been genetically designed. Whats the evolution beyond "Mind"? Also going along with your thinking of :
Quote:Perhaps I don't "understand" what has been written about the nomads, but it wasn't written explicitly in SP and hence cannot be completely concrete.
By your reasoning all of Disco is OORP.
Stop arguing for the sake of arguing and listen to what these people are saying.

I highly suggest you stop right there. You will cause yourself no end of grief when you find out that the nomad you've been roleplaying for _______ days/weeks completely contradicts the "Lore".
In fact I suggest anyone who wants to RP as a nomad, just settle down and wait until 4.85.
Patience is a virtue that many nomad wannabes lack. If you rush it you will miss things.

No, i'm not kidding at all. Incidentally, im not talking about G'uaold or however you spell them either. I am not in favour of Stargate ripoffs, and I dislike the series anyway. Genetically designed or not, nothing can stay in the condition it was meant to without maintenance. Try leaving an oil rig in the Caribean for 100 years without human intervention. It certainly wont be in the state you left it in when everyone left.
By my reasoning, Roleplay by one person can be superceded by those who want to and have a very good reason to. Not that all of disco is out of roleplay. Pretty laughable interpretation of my opinion you have there, Hyung, but I should have clarified for people wanting to poke holes.
I dont want to roleplay a nomad either, but I dont support two factions holding the monopoly on nomad roleplay. If others such as Magoo want to make their own future as a nomad, they should be able to without being shackled.
