Go with either a junker tag/smuggler ID or junker tag/junker ID. I use the latter, since tying myself to the junkers makes me a little more reputable than the average smuggler - it shows i've got more friends in the black market to handle business.

I know several smuggling routes, send me a PM if you're interested. Some are harder than others due to interference from lawfuls/bounty hunters. Just keep in mind that you have to be very careful moving around kusari as a junker, people there dont like us much.

Not that hard, unless you plan on landing on Manhattan.

With a fresh character, go to Rochester and get a Junker bribe, do a few missions against the Xenos until you get your Junker tag, get a Junker or Smuggler ID (from Rochester), then find an Outcast bribe (at a Junker/Rogue/Hacker base, generally). Then you should at least not be hostile with the vast majority of factions. Might be with the Bounty Hunters, which can be a pain of an enemy (they're everywhere), but that's fixable.

All that's been said is good, I just want to add that just because you're a smuggler with okay rep with pirates doesn't mean you'll be let off the hook with them. If you come down the tradelane, you'll still get the tax unless you're directly IFFed with them, or carrying something necessary - or in some cases, unnecessary - for them in particular. For example, carry cardimine to Alcatraz and a Rogue would be much less obliged to pirate you.

By the way, get something better than that Camara as soon as you can. Wouldn't want me opening you up again.;)

Anyways, if you have Junkers maxed green and above every other faction, just dock and undock. It should say:

New Affiliation: Junkers

If you are having trouble getting the ID ask someone to run missions for you, generally nice people in disco you know.;)
