Tenacity I 10% agree with you. The cruisers are useless, but you're going the wrong way, the problem isn't about the cruiser/BS things but cruiser/fighter (in general).

The guns I'm pointing are the solaris.

On BSs, it gives a fair defense against most of treats due to a big enough range (if it get nerfed on next update then yes the BSs will have really no use anymore but "flying a big ship")
On Dessies, it's no more than a joke, you will NEVER use them in any ways cause of a range and speed that make it as good as primaries on bombers. I tested it, a VHF can dodge enough to keep shield up against a full solaris cruiser if he stand at least at 400m range (at the same time, the dessie get hit at 100% of cases:P).

Other point are about the missiles. THAT missiles should be the anti BS tools, but it can't even hit the shield, what a LOL:)


I voted NO on everything for that reasons. You want the cruisers do their job well but you are pointing the wrong problem.

You make a good point grimly, and at least with pulses/mortars upped to 3500 or so range now, they can be used for shield killing while the missiles are used against hull.

So, that cuts things down to two issues:
-Battlecruisers need thrusters (otherwise they're just battleships with less armor, less shielding, and less firepower - agility is their key, just like cruisers)
-Solaris turrets need to be made more effective, or primaries need to be made more effective against smaller craft... or both.

So how about this, we up the range on normal cruiser turrets (primaries) to around 2000-2200m, right now they're 1700m i believe. Then we increase range on solaris cruiser turrets to 1500-1750 meters, roughly - right now I believe solaris turrets are like 900m range. Then we add thrusters to the IMG, Liberty, and future Kusari battlecruisers.

Perhaps those changes can be agreed on?

I will give the smackdown to anyone saying cruisers are useless.

I am for a SLIGHT range increase for primaries/solaris, but that's it. I really like the speed of those guns.

A thruster on BC would make sense, not as fast as a cruiser but faster then a BS. 120 would make sense to me.

I am a complete cruiser whore and I can tell you that I can kill just about any ship with the exception of more then 2 bombers with relative ease. Gunboats just get fried if you weapons group. I have a rear mortar on my labc that has more gb and bomber kills then any other single gun I have.

Battle Ships are an issue at close range, but mortar spam them at 3.2 and you have a dead cap. BC are the only ones that can't do this easily because of speed matching with the bs.

The only thing I would really like to see with the cruisers is a little more range on solaris, and primaries, with a VERY slight increase in turret rotational speed.

BC could be a bit faster but meh, they work good in my minds eye for what they do. A pair of LABC will kill almost any BS/Dread if you get the right team together. Me in the Kearsarge and Jimmy in the louisville will prove that.

I'd love to see a range buff to the artillery style weapons (mortars, etc) and a thruster would be nice for BCs.

If I'm not mistaken in the BC info card it says the ship was designed to fly in fast and punch a hole in enemy lines with is firepower. The current BCs are not fast... infact a battleship could fly in and do much more damage to the enemy lines in the same time.

To my knowledge there are currently five battlecruisers in the game:
-The Order Light Carrier (Thruster - Check)
-The Bounty Hunter BC (Thruster - Check)
-The Necrosis (Thruster - Check)
-The Liberty Battlecruiser
-The IMG Battlecruiser

There were plans to add a Kusari battlecruiser as wel but I havent seen anything on it yet.

So right now 60% of battlecruisers in the mod are using thrusters, and nobody has complained about it so far. Why is there such opposition towards giving the remaining two thrusters just like the rest? Especially when those remaining two have less firepower and hull than the above 3?

Order carrier - huge and slow turning
BHG BC - slow turning and limited firepower back
Necrosis - special ship which is simply better than others

LABC and IMG BC - more turret coverage and significantly more armor than BHG BC (only one that you can really compare with)

Cruiser mortars, razors, and pulse turrets

Currently, cruiser mortars (light mortars) and pulse turrets have around 3500m range - not sure about razors, as I dont use them. Considering these are the primary seige weapons used by destroyers, cruisers, and battlecruisers, they need to be able to out-range any battleship weapons. I think all three should have range buffed to 4500-5000 meters, allowing them to out-range all bs weapons except for the mortar/heavy mortar and bs missiles.

Nitpick: BS missiles only go 4k.

That aside, I agree, need to give cruisers a job.

Seems someone wants Cruiser to kill BS 1 on 1 with no sweat ...

Cruiser with weapon range higher then BS will eat it if Cruiser have thrusters ... simplty shoot shoot shoot ... run run run shoot shoot BS dead before it gets chance to fire shot. Mortar could hit i guess but its easy to dodge even in battleship from that distance ... lolz

Anyway maybe cruisers getting longer range for Mortar could help them anti-capital way ... and a bit longer solaris range for fighter/bombers but it wouldn't overpower them. And thrusters on others .. weaker but still some to make them faster then BS only for that reason ( no sense something smaller move slower then something bigger:))

Agree, Disagree, Agree. Technically, we could do what you suggest to the mortars and razors, but a Libby cruiser can own from a distance anyways.
