I've been looking at it, and trying to see how to incorporate Order designs, but it seems a bit hard to do. I very much like the model, yet it stands out as a assault version of the zoner gunboat. Like they're sisters, just this one is more combat-focused.
I wouldn't mind flying that thing at all, and as background you could do something along the lines of that since the other zoner gunboat is for more civil and wide public use, this version was designed in cooperation with the Order, and had in mind to use it as an assault or fighter design. Then the Zoners gave the Order the design and came to some aggrement or something.
Also, I'm tired of the same Osiris frame on almost everything the Order has capital ship wise:)
Just my input as a long time order player - I personally like having a ship derived from zoner models. The zoners and order are, IMO, more closely allied than even the order and corsairs - the corsair/order alliance was basically them letting us use their shipyards, after we gave them both technology and ship designs, we got little but manufacturing ability out of it.
When you first released the zoner gunboat model, I had planned on using one of them for my order character as a converted ship with stealth recon/surveillance in mind. The zoner shape looks very sleek and stealthy, perfectly fitting for a small recon strike craft like this - and this new model looks even better.
It makes sense, to me anyways, that the order would look into making joint zoner/order technology, moreso than order/corsair or orderberty technology. While many of the order's own designs are still based on liberty ships - that's only because that's what they started out with, and they had no real design inspiration of their own.
The corsairs are not technologically advanced, IMO - they have some decent equipment, but they get by on numbers and tactics, not top-notch research and weapons development. The zoners, on the other hand, put a -lot- of investment into developing advanced technology for their ships, because that's their livelihood - and the order thinks the same way. Rather than using swarming numbers, we rely on small groups of ships equipped with the very best tech, and flown by the very best pilots, to survive on the edge of space.
There are a ton of other 'new age' designs being put into other factions by modelers here, I dont see it as a stretch that the order might put investing into a new generation of stealth combat vessels like this. They have more survivability and utility at their disposal than just fighters, along with more firepower, and arent really all that much larger or more expensive to make. Think about it - one gunboat with advanced tech is equivalent to an entire squadron of fighters, and has the room and storage capacity to run research or recon missions into enemy territory for extended periods of time without having to find a place to land every 8 hours so the pilots can take a piss =P
while the feedback was good enough - many a players mentioned that they d like to see a more generic order design instead of a zoner design "given" to the order...
so here is a conservative order design - something like a hybrid between BHG capships, lib GB and the osiris.
this ship would have to be larger and less agile though, cause its much harder to hit - judging by its shape.
personally - and if it works with the balance - i would like to have the following setup:
- 2 GB F-guns
- 4 GB turrets ( 2 360 degrees, 2 forward 90 degrees )
- 75k armour
- agility roughly like the corsair GB
- size about like the corsair GB
- large powerplant
- 301 cargo, so that it can "just" mount capital ship armour
yea - currently skinning it ... since its just a mini osiris - skinning it won t even take 30 min... ( its a tube.. no matter what you add to it.... its still only a tube )
i m just a bit worried that the order is basicly only flying around in one and the very same design - from gunboat to battleship then.... its all just a variation of the osiris.

So are the BHG ships, and they still look freakin' awesome.;)
I don't see why a gb with two forward guns cannot be tried. If all else fails we convert the gun mounts into turret mounts and balance it like any other gb.
