' Wrote:a GB can own a cruiser cause he is more agile
a cruiser cont move very much while fighting cause it moves to slow
while i find most of the facts in this statement to be true. the exchanging of ownership of said cruiser to the gunboat, from my experience, is nearly always false.
' Wrote:I have only this to say, IF a Gunboat wins against a Battlecruiser or Destroyer, in a fair one on one fight, it's because the GB pilot has a better mastery over his or her ship than the Cruiser/BC pilot.
Simple as that, it's the pilot that makes the difference, not the ship.
or because his ship is that much better =P
I could take out outcast and rheinland cruisers with my kusari gunboat fairly easily, just because it was that small and manuverable, and the forward gun took care of them easily enough.
Bounty hunter gunships are even smaller and more manuverable than that, and I know there's several out there who have taken on cruisers / battlecruisers alone with that ship just because they're next to impossible to hit.
Useful (I hope) advice for cruiser vs GB, from the cruiser point of view;
Get up in his face. It negates some of the difference in dodging, and if you get really close, it negates hitbox/strafe speed differences entirely. However, the GB will know this and try to stay at ~1.3k; since he wants to move away, that will be giving him less shots while he moves around. Cruisers have more powerplant downtime than GBs (IIRC), so making both of you have to stop/slow down firing and move now and then is to the advantage of the cruiser. In the event they don't move away, you've pretty much got them; your DPS is bigger than theirs and you have more hull.
Also; asteroids ALWAYS benefit the smaller ship UNLESS you learn to use them to turn. It's really hard to do with cruisers since the hitboxes are hard to eyeball, but with GB on down I've been able to out-turn maneuverable VHFs by dinging off the asteroids at the right angles. It takes some practice, but it works.
As to the issue at hand, House GBs own caps if you learn to land that big forward gun. Liberty GB is amazing, and any of them can be used to tear up anything they can get in front of them. As far as bigger caps, it's a pretty tense fight going GB to CC or BC; when both know what they're doing it's one hell of a match, but I actually think it's probably easier to learn the CC side of it... but you do need some skill to be successful with it. Sort of like every other ship class.
This may be sort of irrelevant, but I felt the need to point this out, Bad.Wolf, if you look back at Naval History, atleast as far as WW2 and the United States Navy, most of OUR PT Boats, carried Torpedo tubes, so that, if need be, they -Could- Get a few good hits in on a Destroyer or Cruiser of the day, and sink or severely damage it.
If we bring up real life, every man and their dog would own a freighting company, I would be a Navy Vice Admiral, commies would be living in Switzerland, Japanese cars would be tiny and maneuverable as a motorbike, and we would have Jes banning people going over the speed limit.

'Nough said about that argument, next please?

SevereTrinity is an [LN] Vice Admiral.
The Coalition ID is sold in Omega-3, on a Zoner base [neutral].
The Kusari Destroyer is as agile as their Gunboat.
Whoever 'Jes' is, she banns people for speedmodding. O.o

only ship, that i have problem with it is kusari destroyer piloted by mjolnir. i am flying with corsair gb, and that ship can beat everything except bs, (against bs is better smaller gb, for example, bh or liberty rogue) and it is also on ship loadout.(using 6 cerbs on gb is .... ehm ehm) and for the lawfull,s that can not use infernons, well, unlawfulls can not use battlecruisers and we live with it ( and i have on my gb only classic guns, no razors or inferno and i think some people have goal to learn how to beat tinky:D)
Cruisers own GBs every time unless the GB are in packs or the cruiser isn't fireing right.
I would say the only cruiser that cannot is the Lib BC because it has no thruster to close distance and a GB can missile spam while fireing it's main weapons at further then 1K to throw off the cruiser's fire.
Also, a cruiser can really be worthless if it does not weapon group and has it's guns firing at different velocities. Then all the GB has to do is dodge a little and it is home free.
I believe that GB weapons are getting a pretty big range drop that is going to solve a lot of these issues.
