The only issue I have with it is the texturing on the bottom of the ship. It really is just too plain I think. Even a small dark strip across the ship would help break the monotone trend.
Apart from that, looking forward to flying it:)
hmm.... bloody engines.
I think the part where the engines are embedded looks to blocky. I propose to make it more rounded. What about reducing it to three engines ?
You definitely have to reduce the edges.
Ah and IMO the old engine version looked slightly better...
But I'd still abolish the WHOLE engine part and recreate it.
the ships proportions are very good. - straight edges and round curves are quite harmonious - and it looks like its very very massive ( in terms of armour ) while the crews sections so look somewhat believable.
the thing that does not work is its size. - i know you made a "city"ship - or a large habitat - but the problem there is that by the looks - without a direct comparison, it looks as large as the augsburg habitat in munich - which would even dwarf the barge.
if you scale it down though - it looses a lot and will look like a model of a city ship.
on most FL ships ( capital warships ) you see like 98% armour and 2% windows. ( except Epyons outcast warships that appear to be liners somewhat ) when you apply a glowmap to all the windows in this ship - you get a huge construct the size of a planet that glows like a christmas tree.
but maybe its the problem is that i cannot imagine a "cityship" in FL. the humans used a sleeper ship to travel - which is of course something completely different to a ship that ppl actually "live" in. - stations are the closest thing we got to a space city, and even those are limited much. ( like the usual freeport having around 100 crewmembers and probably twice as many visitors at most )
Engines still look terrible. Dont use such plain texture on them. Also, delete those tubes and use cylinder tool in milk shape to make new ones. Use 1 slice and 8 angles. Then use textures on them and you will be surprised by results.
Also, textures around engines are not good at all. Those are LOD textures used on vanilla ships at higher distances. They simply wont do applied on such large surface.
Rest of the textures, while being applied rather well, spoil the ship by looking too plain...variety is needed.
That is now a design of pure epic win, ADD TO MOD NOW!
id live on that ship lol
