From now and until this night, server will be down.
I'm going to transfer the user data base to my computer and mount the server here, to see if more processing power fixes the issue.
Server will then run on my gaming rig for the next 24 hours.
Specs of the system it will run in are:
Athlon XP 3000+ @ 2400mhz
1280MB of RAM
300GB Of disks space
And a 2560/256 kbps cable-modem connection.

Server is now up and running on my machine.
Server load is 2ms with 10 people on.
But bandwidth usage is high. Downstream is not a problem, but upstream is. I only can handle a max of 32 Kbytes/sec, and upstream is 24 with 10 users.
Still, feel free to take missions so we can see if the server can handle it. I will be monitoring it for a few hours until i go to bed. There will be no restarts, as i can't enable RD on this machine for security reasons, and i wont be here to reboot the server if it crashes.
Report lag, and what were you doing on that moment to forums.

Yes. Most lag of now is because my Internet connection upstream is not enough to mantain a steady data flow.
For reference, i have a 32 KB/sec upstream from router to the internet, and my system is sending 70KB/s to the router in the worst case, which is with 20 people on, and some doing missions.
For what i can see, part of the problem is the amount of data the server has to process in order to keep it... um (thinks on a word)... "unlaggy". The more ships out there, the more data it has to send to the clients. And i think t sends the data to all the clients. Even if they are not in the same system. So we can say that the way the flserver handles things is inefficient. Why send all that data to a ship in Connecticut if the data is from a battle in Honshu? *sigh* (damn Microsoft).

I got constant lag mostly yellow, some red. I was helping [PB]CoReY gather loot. Taking on the whole of Texas in a raven claw. (avoiding the capships, of course) That was overlagging the server i suspect ;) .
It wouldnt lag if you had a better upload speed.
AND not once did i see any NPC's dissapear OR freeze. Just jumping slightly (not the really bad jumping, hits were registering half a sec after it actually hit).
*checks server after taking the before-sleep shower*
Well, ping to your IP shows between 300 and 500 ms of delay. So lag is because the connection between our machines (most precisely, the damn seabone between my country and the rest of the universe _)
