Keep in mind that in the original opening it was close enough for a one man fighter to make it to planet Manhattan. Which means that it is with in a life times distance away or the small one man fighter had the ability to freeze its pilot.

FTL drives?

Perhaps the fighters docked with the sleeper ships once they were far enough away from the battle, so the pilots could go bidies too...

there remains the question... who was driving the thing? AI? Heretidary line of navigators and pilots? did they wake people in rotation, so they all did a 6month shift?

No, in the extended opening this lone fighter launched after the sol system was destroyed, long after the sleeper ships were gone.

Unless I'm mistaken, there was an autopilot. It woke the captain and crew when they neared their destination.

Dunno if this has any bearing on it, but what about time dilation effects
when you get near the speed of light?

Then you get displacement things i.e. the people of Sirius are what you
guys have calculated, but the people of Earth would be older wouldn't they?

Or am I thinking of something completely different?

' Wrote:---->Starlancer is set in the year 2160.<---- It remains unknown how long did the sleeper ships travel to Sirius, since everyone on the ships was frozen.

2100-2200 A.S. - The Alliance-Coalition War.
2200 A.D/0 A.S. - Eight sleeper ships launch from one of Jupiter's moons. The other three sleeper ships were built by the French, Italian, and Australian armies. However, they were destroyed before they could escape. The Bretonia's starboard engine array was destroyed during the Exodus. Therefore, it had to travel much slower than the other ships and arrived much later than them. (unchecked info)
1 A.S. - Liberty sleeper ship lands on Manhattan. It is rumored that the Liberty arrived first because it launched before the other sleeper ships.
3 A.S. - Rheinland sleeper ship lands on New Berlin.
5 A.S. - Kusari sleeper ship lands on New Tokyo.
19 A.S. (approximately) - Bretonia sleeper ship lands on New London.

Someone notices that they launched 0 A.S., and arrived in the year 1 A.S., which you could read After Start? Would make about 1 Year from Sol to Manhatten, 3 to Berlin, 5 to Tokyo. Bretonia does not counnt, because the starbord engine.
3817 A.D. i'd guess after these facts (for the people of Sirius, for the people of Earth, i don't know how to calculate the time dilation effect).

I wrote that 2200 AD thing. However, that was before I knew what A.S. really stands for, which is After Settlement, so that timeline isn't accurate. A more accurate one can be found on the Wiki, where the Liberty landed in 0 A.S. and was officially founded on 1 A.S. We don't know how long the sleeper ships were traveling.

Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams
Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction
Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid
Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space
Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits

Liberty and Nomad Backstory, Very interesting - read it!
