I've been doing some thinking, and maybe, a trailer is a bit too superfluous. Too cliche. What I had in mind were several short 'skits' filmed in-game with voice overs. A few scenarios.
~The scene is a Sabre wing; one leading with two flanking it's wings through Tau 23. You can see their names- Outcasts- Red.One, Two, and Three. They charge and enter cruise as the voice of the commander says:~
Red One: This is Red Leader, leading a patrol out from Cali.
~A Camera ship records the patrol flying past, in the direction of Java.~
Red Two: Red two, here. Anyone else see that reading?
Red One: Go check it out, two, and meet up at the waypoint.
~One Sabre breaks formation~
Red Two: Hmm.. I think- AUGH! AMBUSH!
~Several IMG Eagles come out of hiding, their names generic ones- IMG-Ralph.Hondur and such~
Red One: Breaking to assist.
~Fight scene, with a mixture of Sabre-back combat and Camera ship combat~
...
The ending would be random. The Outcasts and IMG would fight a normal scuffle, and we'd write a script for the winners afterward, depending on their end numbers.
~A Large Train is cruising towards a Trade Lane in Colorado. A Guardian and Eagle pull up beside it in formation~
Guardian: Escort one in position.
Eagle: Escort two here.
~They go through the lane, and, OH NO! A break!~
Hacker: What's this? I see I've got a catch. That's some fancy goods you got there. Drop me some.
~The Train hits it's cruise engine and the escorts fly full speed at the Hacker Stiletto. The Train escapes, but the escort's dying screams are heard faintly. The Trader hides in an asteroid field. The Camera ship drifts backward to see the trader get destroyed by the Hacker.~

These kinds of short skits, in a series-form, would be able to better illustrate individual elements of discovery. We could go over unlawful lives, lawful lives, miners, traders, vigilantes, civilians, Nomads, Robots..
Honestly I hate to seem negative, but I'd like something that captures a bit more if Disco... That just doesn't scream "disco" to me... Why focus on just one part rather than the whole of everything disco is?
We'd capture several aspects of discovery through several short skits as I said above, with all ingame footage and community voice. Then put them onto the Discovery YouTube channel.
We would be able to showcase ingame events, as well as our new ships. With short skits, we'd literally have endless material.

You can't fit everything Disco into one trailer. Period.

I could make some trailer, have good editing program and I can upload vid in HD quality on youtube. But thing is, I have no idea, what exactly to record, what would show discovery, or at least part of it.
A huge moshpit of fighting- Liberty on Rheinland on Bretonia on Kusari on Liberty. Then, an ominous view of the purple nose of a Nomad Battleship is seen, and the fighting stops. The screen shows a Nomad Battlegroup, Battleship flanked by Cruisers, Gunboats and fighters.
The Human forces assemble under one force and launch at the nomad attack force.
I will pay five million credits for each one minute of good footage. Does not need to be edited, though it would make this easier. Ten million per minute if it is truly exceptional. No credits will be given if people complain that you interfere with fights.
