Your small respite of courage does not hid the fact that your doubt is visible to everyone in this room. I can smell the fear dripping off you. Tell me, what do you dread more; our enemies, or the torture you will suffer if you fail us. You see, I want to know how far you can be pushed, and how dedicated a brother you will be.
With that, the door in which Takahashi Ken'ichi entered opens, and in walks the man whom escorted him from the hanger deck. He walks in front of Takahashi Ken'ichi, making it so that only his black silhouette can be seen through the blinding light.
I have asked my brother here to join us. He is here to ensure that you only speak the correct answers
The man then pulls an object from out behind his back; the katana that Takahashi Ken'ichi had come in with, and drives the sword into the ground beside him.

Hakatoa leans over the video display, ever intently watching the screen. Making note of every gesture, every expression Takahashi Ken'ichi makes during the entire ordeal. It was up to Hakatoa to use everything he'd learnt from his own initiation, and his training in the Black Dragons Society to bend this man psychologically. Only if he did not snap under the process would he be deamed worthy of entering our family.
It was time to make his appearance. Hakatoa got up from the chair in the dark room. Only the video display illuminated outlines. He reached for his lighter, and placed it in his jacket pocket before leaving to enter the interrogation chamber.

Hakatoa then pulls an object from out behind his back; the katana that Takahashi Ken'ichi had come in with, and drives the sword into the ground beside him.
Circling around the blade, Hakatoa's figure comes into better view of Takahashi.
Hakatoa gives a cold stare at Takahasi as he rounds the blade, and begins speaking. "I wonder, where did you get this blade? I often see noblemen and samurai gallivanting around with such archaic weapons."
Hakatoa breaks off eye contact, and continues circling the blade,
"Once a symbol of a samurai's honor, what purpose do these weapons even serve in our age of pulse weapons and fusion drives? Or do you simply believe you possess the qualities of a noble samurai? Still, the blade seems more than capable of taking a life, or at least delivering a large wound. Tell me, have you ever taken a life with this blade?"
Hakatoa stops circling the blade, as his hand rests atop the hilt of the weapon. He stares up and down the length of the sword, awaiting Takahashi's response.

Ken'ichi confidently gave his reply. "Melee weapons have saved lives on the battlefield when a solder's main weapon jammed, ran out of ammo, or otherwise malfunctioned. A melee weapon such as a sword or a knife does not suffer from any of these problems, nor does it make a big bang when you swing it. I have not had to kill anyone with the sword, nor have I killed anyone with a firearm. I have, however, destroyed some enemies of Kusari out in space, where you use high-powered plasma cannons instead of swords and pistols. Space is where the most of the major battles are fought nowadays."
"Mister Aki, you can not smoke here" - Sad an officer by the door
"What do you mean I cant smoke?" - Asked a man in a black coat and dark hair
"It means, that you can not smoke on this ship, it is against the rules...." The officer sad
"Well, if those are the rules, then here, take this" Kuro Aki pushed and cigar into the officers hand "And don't you even try to smoke it, got it?"
He saw a recruit come out of a big hall, with big brown wooden doors. The recruit looked sad, so Kuro thought, that the man got rejected...
"Well, lets see how ruff these "Black Dragons" really are!" He thought to him self...
He pushed the big wooden door open, and stepped inside.
The hall was huge, and the only thing in it, was a big wooden desk, and a man sitting behind it.
Kuro took a deep breath and shouted over the hall : "Are you the one, who is recruiting?"
"No need to shout sir, you can just come over here, sit down, and tell me who you are, and what do you really want" Sad the man by the desk.
"WHAT? I DID NOT HEAR YOU!" Kuro shouted.
"JUST COME OVER HERE, YOU ......" The man shouted, and finished the sentence to him self.
Kuro took his time to go over the hall, looking around.
finally he sat down and introduced him self
"Hello, my name is Kuro Aki, I Am 27 years old. When do i start?"
"Not so fast boy, this is not going to be that easy. First of all, I need to know from where do you come from, what skills do you have. What kind of a man are you?"
Kuro pushed his palm to his face and sad : "Ahh man, not this all again"

Hakatoa, grips the hilt of the blade, and pulls it out from the ground. holding the blade in two hands, one of the hilt, the other on the blade, he begins to walk behind Ken'ichi.
"Contrary to your initial entrance, you seem to understand a need for.. subtlety. You also understand the ways of the soldier. You should understand that our heritage is held in high regards.-"
Hakatoa, before passing out of your sight grips the hilt with both hands, positions himself behind you.
"Honor, trust, and power. These are important attributes that must be earned."
Hakatoa presses the blade against your neck. You can feel the side of the blade press against your flesh. The flat, cold steel pressing against your body.
"Now.. It's a shame to hear that such a finely crafted weapon has never been used.. You say you wish to defend our nation and prove it's strength of our enemies. Then why have you chosen our syndicate over our naval forces. You even carry the blade of a samurai.. A symbol for a warrior of the Shogun. Not even the KNF have been this far into our luxery liner. And we intend to keep it that way. Why is it that you seek to join our brotherhood, over the warriors of the shogun?"
Hakatoa Yamota, Fuku-Honbucho in the Black Dragon Society
Ken'ichi thinks back to his past. "I was a Lieutenant in the Kusari naval forces, but there was a huge misunderstanding a week ago. They thought I murdered a Lieutenant, which I didn't do. Just throwing away my life for nothing would of been dishonorable, so I had to go into hiding. 3 days ago I received a notice from the KNF that my record was cleared, and that they caught the real perpetrator. However, I do not feel safe re-joining the KNF, so I decided that I would join up with you guys."
You feel the blade press harder against your neck.
"So you are an officer of the KNF.." Hakatoa's voice sounds disturbed... He looks up to the shadowy figures..
It seems whoever was in charge of security failed to mention this fact..
"You are on thin ice lieutenant.. Continue to choose your words carefully.. You've already seen and heard too much, should you fail this test, you also forfeit your life..."
Even though you can't see it, you feel his gaze come upon you again.
"On one hand, you've learned the weakness of the Naval Forces. Bound by red-tape, beurocracy and regulations. Easy to accuse eachother of false acts, it almost seems like the KNF are difficult to be relied upon. On the other hand, you've endagered our interests when you stepped deep within our home. I wonder, are you no differant from those who would so quickly wrongly accuse one of their own?"
Hakatoa looks to the shadowy figures, to see their reaction to this new information.

Ken'ichi struggles to think of a response to this statement. Unable to clear his throat because of the blade being so close to him, he replied: "I am just a grunt, a henchman. I follow and carry out the orders. I don't give them, nor do I have any desire to do so."
"Would i so swiftly accuse one of my own of such an act of betrayal? No. If it were up to me, I would gather hard evidence first before making any rash actions. Unfortunately, such decisions are not mine to make."
I have seen enough. Come the voice from behind the bright light. He has won me over, give him his swords back. With that the blinding light in front of Takahashi Ken'ichi turns off and the whole room goes black until Hakatoa opens the door. Lights turn on in the room as Hakatoa leaves, and only Takahashi Ken'ichi and the man whom stood behind the light remain. The man walks over to a table previously unseen by Takahashi Ken'ichi and after running his hand over all manor of torture devices he stops on a rather large needle that is connected to what appears to be a power pack.
My name is Ruuku Ochi, you will refer to me as Elder. In my hand is a simple tattoo gun, I promise you that it will not prove fatal. You are now a Black Dragon; your body and your mind now belong to us. You have shown courage, and I believe yourself honourable. Do not give me any evidence to the opposite, as I do not give a second thought to slitting the throats of those whom disappoint me. I will put the Black Dragon on your neck, a symbol of your pledge to us; your family.
Ruuku walks to Takahashi Ken'ichi, and proceeds to tattoo his the lower left of his neck.
You are a Black Dragon now, go and enjoy the ship. The Golden Dragon here is a place of respite for us; go and enjoy yourself as we will begin to work tomorrow. But remember, I have high expectations of you, do not fail me.
