Ok, I've been off the server for the last few days because (for some unknown reason) freelancer wouldn't work, kept saying some dumb error with the FL.exe file
Anyhow, I uninstalled, deleted the mod, installed again, re-downloaded the mod and tried again, it worked, upto a point.
It'd come up with the big FL logo, the bit you get before it goes to the menu, and then it'd crash to the desktop and thats it.
So I uninstalled etc again, reloaded, redownloaded etc, still nothing.
After repeating this for about 6+ times I gave up before I ended up sucumbing to temptation and taking a sledgehammer to the PC. :angry2:
Then the beta comes out, fine I think, one way to solve it, so I download it, or try to.
For three days it'll only download just over 20 MBs, then finally, it downloaded the lot and now it's coming out with this rubbish:-
Quote:Error: SHCopyFile failed ('C:\Program Files\Freelancer Mod Manager\mods\Discovery482beta2\DATA\Universe\Systems\Bw07\Bw07.ini' to 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\DATA\Universe\Systems\Bw07\Bw07.ini')
(copied and pasted from the log thingy in FL mod manager)
So any help would be very gratefully recieved.
Though any comments of 'uninstall it and then install it again' will result in the suggester getting a gigaton nuke stuffed down their throat.
Otherwise I'm going to format the PC (unless I take a sledgehammer to it first) and try again.
Was wondering mate, unlike you, without a good reason ...
Replacing sledgehammer in the shed would be the first good move, we seem to be suffering
casualties left, right and centre, with software hiccups, no need to include the hardware ...
Switching comms channel on will be a positive start ... Several people have noticed your
MIA status.

You've either got corrupt mod or corrupt FL installation, reinstall your Freelancer and FLMM, and re-download the mod (or wait until beta 3, which will be available soon).
Its a glitch in the Mod manager, its not you Igiss. This is what you do.
Uninstall freelancer.
Delete the mod entirely from the Mod manager. ( Go in to the manager program files )
Re Install Freelancer
Run the game till it gets to the menus.
Close the game.
Re download and install the mod.
Done.
One thing comes to mind, a lot of people never heard of it - 'defragmentation'
Have you tried running that? I also suggest you use a third-party program (like Diskeeper by Executive Software), not the default one that comes with windows, you may end up with it working 10+ hours and still not finish... Microsoft efficiency... Diskeeper does it in 20 mins max.
Errors like this often come from file fragmentation, there are, of course, other possibilities, like viruses/malware but I doubt it. I suggest you try defragmenting your hard drive.
If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I. Asimov The Outcasts consider Siniestre Nube a sacred place for several reasons. Early explorers discovered a jumphole within the depths of the cloud that leads to a strange world of ringed stars and strange craft. All ships in the burrial ground are placed facing that hole to honor the Alien Spirits. - An Outcast rumor
This means that FLMM cannot copy the file to Freelancer directory. Why? Many reasons, corrupt FL installation most probable, incorrectly de-activated mod, trouble with HDD... anyway, if the mod did unpack in FLMM, the downloaded file itself should be OK (you may check the size, I post it in announcements).
