Watsas hit the nail on the head. A Rogue GB is going to be harder to destroy than a Corsair Gunboat, and a Kusari Explorer is definitely doing to be easier to destroy than a BHG Gunship. In all these cases, though, try using a combination of one bomber & two fighters, two bombers, or, well, just 2+ small ships. With practice, you can easily beat any GB off.
EDIT: Currently, the Gunboat is a very versatile ship. It's very difficult to fight one off without one of your own, or a group of smaller ships. It's possible, however, very difficult. Best of luck fighting your Gunboat!

[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
Heh, funny. That vote about using faction weapons... Right.
Try beating a GB with 2 eagles armed with furies and debs.
Of course, two fighters can beat the crap out of a GB with codes+shieldbusters.
They can do it with powerful faction weapons too.
But with average weapons.. They are going to have a hard time.
The most important thing is to have a CD with you. GB must be CDed.
If it's about BH gunship I find it easier to kill it with fighters then bombers.
Simply because of it's ability to dodge SN's.
You have to be a very good SN aimer in order to hit enough SN's on it.
SN ram!

It is every Corsair's responsibility to die a beautiful death in defense of Crete, regardless of how OORP or how capwhoring the opposition is. Launch your fighter, joust the battlecruisers and die a beautiful death. Then, drink it down in the bar.
if you come across a gunship/boat in a tradeconvoy the idea is to RUN WITH THE TRANSPORTS
Most of the pirates in funboats have no idea of what they are doing in an RP sence so they will target the transports first. Really annoying as an escort since you should draw the fire away and get some damage done....
There used to be pictures here
once known as Richard Farbridge, OBE and Ronaldo Benitez
I think that some Libby GB pilots still remember ReapersTradingInc. 6 Pirate transports all heavy armored flying in convoy killing all that stood on their way.. fighters, bombers, guboats...
Fly in convoy, take 3-4, or more friends , armor up your Trading ship, buy best turrets and shields.. and trust me Gbs will not be problem for you. Or get yourself escort.... but seriously try convoys..
Thanks for all the input. I mainly ask for the sake of roleplaying. I want to get some kind of strike team going that can help take out pirate gun boats. I usually play with 2-3 friends, so maybe fighter, bomber, gb will work for us!!
The biggest problem you've got in taking out a gunboat/ship with fighters/bombers is if it's got a load of missile turrets. But even so, with a fighter and two bombers, properley kitted out, it should be a simple task to take out any gunboat/ship. Taking on a single GB with fighter, bomber, and GB is overkill, if you ask me.

*chokes and dies*
Also, two bombers should obliterate a gunboat, unless the thing is spamming missiles and you have no CDs.

Skilled gunboat can hande bunch of fighters (VHFs) without any problem. Even pair of bombers isnt big tragedy if they arent perfectly cooperating.
Disco is designed for skill, right question isnt if your ship can own gunboat but if YOU can.
any AFK gunboat;)
It's possible with tizzies or debs, just ask the HAF GB BHG GS at crete who faced my Eagle xD (But then again, that's an Eagle and you can dodge forever in it.
It's possible to solo GBs in a bomber, or in a fighter, or in another GB, yet it's also possible to solo a bomber, or a fighter, or another GB in a bomber.
