Tom looks up to see a sudden rush of five people or so enter the bar independantly. He lacked in astonishment to this sudden occurance but still remained more interest in his nabbed newspaper. But something snagged his attention away from the latest article about Cryer's siriuswide interior investigation. A man at the bar seemed to be stuffing down the remnants of a large burger and beer before tapping his stomach in satisfaction.
Tourist
Tom then folded his paper and tossed it onto the table before him. He turned his head to his left over the couch and saw a Navy officer distracted by a conversation across the bar. Taking this oppertunity he leaned over and nabbed his drink that appeared to have been untouched and began to take sips while taking in the scene before him.
"I Can't BELIEVE they Rejected Me!" I yelled angrily. "Those Panty-wearing panzies rejected me!"
I got more.. and more furious intil the bartender sat me down and got me a Liberty Ale.
"Here you go son, this should cool your nerves" He handed me the glass and I slowly drank it.
"Thank You sir" I said calmly. "No Problem Son". I said goodbye and walked out the door quietly...
Glancing up from his reading, the gentleman watches with amusement as the young man on the other side of the bar acquires himself a fresh drink. Chuckling quietly he returns to his reading sipping his wine.
Hakase sat in his usual spot at the bar. It had been many months since he had last visited. New faces, as well as some old mingled in their private booths. His old friend Andrews, the bartender, was still serving drinks to the patrons. However, now he's the manager, with young hopefuls working and learning under him.
His head was still spinning from conversation with the tourist, Tom. Just as Hakase placed some reports on the counter, Tom spilled his drink all over it. Tom quickly apologized for the mess and somehow, in a matter of minutes, Tom began talking about his new niece and his sister. Politely, Hakase nodded as he passively listened. Tom excused himself then left the bar, leaving a confused Hakase in his wake.
"I must be getting old," he thought to himself.
As he sat there, staring blankly at the news monitors, his mind slowly wandered through his past adventures. It wandered through the people he met in his travels, all the things he has learned. His mind continued to wander back to where he was happiest; as he stared off into the distance, visions of his family on Kyushu drifted into his subconscious. He remembered how it was before. His wife by his side, his daughter on the other. The sakura trees were in full bloom during the spring and the momiji trees in the fall were full of vibrant colors.
The arrival of the waitress brought him back from his daydream. She took his order and poured out his drink. He let out a heavy sigh and took a sip of his sake.
He fiddled with the ring on his finger, "Eclair... why did it come to this?"
He finished his food and paid his bill. He bid his old friend Andrews a good night. On his way out, he passed a young Kusaran tourist.
He stoppled her, "Ayaka?"
She turned on her heel and faced him, "Nani?"
"Sumimasen, watashi ha dareka hokano nin to kondou sare." (Sorry, I was confused with someone else)
"Daijoubu desu yo" (No problem)
Hakase watched her continue into the bar.
"Should be about her age now..." He thought to himself.
He proceeded to his room

Waving the waitress over. and handing her the empty wine glass.
"May I have another glass of this wine, please. Also I would appreciate it if you could acquire for me a salad with oil and vinegar dressing and a glass of water, please."
//A NOTE: It has been accepted that the Manhattan Bar and Lounge is a "Neutral" zone for liberty lawful and unlawful. In the unlikely event an unlawful does visit, he or she would pose as a civilian and keep to themselves.

I don't want to sound high and mighty, but I'm trying to preserve the RP on this bar and I don't want to see it closed.

The weary crew of the Monbetsu stumbled into the Bar & Lounge. The four men appeared dishevelled and even injured. The leader of the group, Satoru Nomura, talked to the bartender.
"Please, get us all some refreshments. It's been a long day for us. Two Liberty Ales, a Sidewinder Fang and some water thanks."
"What happened to you guys? Does that guy have a broken arm?"
"Our ship was disabled in Omega-3 by a strange Rheinland vessel. It quickly took down our shields and broke off most of our cargo pods. We managed to drift to Bretonian space, and decided against return trips to that sector.
"That was no Rheinland ship boss. It was the Wilde, I tell you. Nomads!", chirped the crew member with a broken arm.
"Yes yes, hush. In Cambridge we filled what cargo pods remained with Beryllium alloys and came here, to Liberty."
The Train Technician held his Sidewinder Fang close to his chest. He was shaking, obviously from the traumatic encounter with the Wilde. He gripped the glass too hard and it shattered - drink spilling all over their table.
The bartender let off a small sigh and grabbed a cloth. "Let me clean that up. Don't worry, you're safe here in Liberty."
Valaric took his drink from the barman, turned around to face the room and looked for the closest table. A small table with 2 chairs was just a few steps away from the bar. He walked to the table, chose the chair that faced into the bar. He always liked to see what was going on, people interested him, made him appreciate people, althought he didnt come across many people in space Humm its been a long time since I had one of these fresh from a bar Valaric thought to himself. He put the glass to his lips and the cool taste of Liberty Ale filled his mouth. He placed the glass back onto the table and signed. He felt disappointed, he had no engineer for his next trade contract and he was meant to meet one in this bar, Argo Arillion, but he had not turned up. But the Ale ebbed away some of his concerns, he stretched out his legs and tried to relax. He still had 3 days to find a suitable engineer to keep his piles of bolts together in space. Maybe someone in here might be able to help me He thought. Valaric looked around the room, seeing if there was anyone who he thought could help him.
But before he could give the room much of a glance the door opened and four men came through the door. Valaric wouldnt have given them much of his attention if it wasnt for the fact they didnt look in great shape. He watched as they approached the bar and stood close to where Valaric was sitting. Just by looking at the four men he could tell they have awful time out in space. He knew that look as he had experienced on a few occasions himself. He knew the terrible feeling that you could die as someone or something attacked your ship.
Valaric was brought out of his own thought as the men started to talk to the barman. He moved in his chair, to partly face the four men and listened to what they said.
Valaric watched as one of the men broke the glass he was holding, the man looked distraught and was visibly shaking. He felt for these men, he too well knew the dangers of space.
Valaric stood up, turned toward the four men and walked towards them and said:
Im sorry but I couldnt help overhear you talking about your troubles, sounds like you had a rough time, is there anything I can do to help?
After sipping down the rest of his 'acquired' scotch and smirking at the confused man to his right as to how his beverage had cloaked; Tom stood up and strolled over to the bar, he threw twenty credits at the tender even though he had not bought a single thing. A man at the bar looked confused as to why since it was clear that he had observed the way Tom had sneakily swindled a patron's drink.
Tom let an amused smile slip through his usually emotionless face and headed back outside into the rain.
