I have seen this over and over during testing and now during the beta.
Judging agility of ships, especially fighters is 95% in what you "expect" it to be.
If you think that something is one way, it will "feel" that way. This specially applies to things that you were told by other people that you go to check.
During most of the closed testing only some of the testers were told exactly what changes were done, some were not told anything at all. Then we checked their reactions.
Out of the about 15 people who tested some ships only 1 person was able to tell exactly what changed with ship handling characteristics. (that was Skoko, all glory to him *bows*) . At least 1/3 of the changes people guessed, were either not there at all (no change) or in some cases even went the other way. I won't name names, but one seasoned BHG player was very convinced that both Hammerhead and Manta were much slower, when in fact the opposite was true.
Note that this was in an environment where no "rumors" were circling around. So you can imagine what happens when there are some.
To try this out members of the development team even gave out "rumors" on purpose to see how many catch up on them and the results were very surprising.

So simply:
[color=#FF0000]If you really think something has changed make sure you re-check a few times (maybe even re-activating 4.84) , get other people that didn't try the ship before to test. And most of all don't try to convince other people about your "feeling" before they try themselves.
(If you are extremely convinced talk to someone who knows a bit about what files to look in, or use datastorm to compare yourself if you think that it's all a "conspiracy")
Here, I'm the listing some of the things that made me laugh really hard over the past few days:
1. myth: at least 6 Corsairs (possibly more) were deeply convinced how Titan turns faster now truth: All stats on Titan are exactly same as in 4.84
2. myth: Supernova takes longer to fire truth: No change was done to supernova except new effect. (made by Silent and Lohingren)
3. myth: Rheinland Bomber turns slower (also heard this about bombers in general) truth: Rheinland Bomber handling wasn't changed at all
4. myth: Chimaera turns like a LF now truth: No change between 4.84 and 4.85 except loosing some armor
5. (not directly related but still) myth: Low level NPCs now hit much harder truth: No change to NPCs under lvl16, apart from changing (lowering) bat/bots use and their armor.

I had this distinct feeling a BHG one did so in Tau-29 the other day while I was flying through it. While I'm indeed having connection problems lately, the BHG ship failed to slingshot back to it's original position after it started sliding, giving me the distinct feeling that it had, indeed, EKed. I'm just teasing ya.
While I've had heard rumours about the RHB handling being worsened, when I got to fly it yesterday my reaction was, "Well, this feels the same as before. Whatever was done, it's neglectible."
So far I've flown (not used in combat though):
Wrath - felt the same
RHB - felt the same
Sabre - I practically just flew straight with it, going from one point to another. Still, from all the bitching over this ship from before, I was expecting it to be drastically changed, one aspect being its strafing. If that got changed, I didn't notice. It felt pretty much the same.
RC - I hadn't flown this in more than a year. It felt as sluggish yesterday as I remember if from before. But then again, I flew the Sabre in to change for it, so maybe it wasn't the best of basis for comparison.
RH BS - This one is just annoying. I do appreciate the fact that the ship doesn't spin anymore. Still, I'm glad I don't suffer from epilepsy or some similar nervous system's disorder. I just hope I don't acquire one from it.
Hahahahaha, I like that myths, Martin, good ones. Oh btw i formed list of bugs i have found , non ship related. I will contact you when i get home from work. Most of bugs have cosmetic character but some are annoying (like no wrecks on scanners, even when you are parked by it or mute conversations on stations).
Anyway, about subject... Yeah feeling is something we are expecting and we think ship should look like... i.e. I expected Sabre will pawn Gunboats (exaggerated) .. and that is not real and objective. When you do following, and i am serious, take a pen and write down all pros and cons and RP wise compare ship against ship, taking in consideration ship stats and faction weapons, you will realize that in 90 % of cases balance is there. Sure some ships -are- better than others, which is normal. Sabre in 4.84 or Red Cat was -uber- and if you try to find that difference in 4.85 i am convinced you will not be able to and with HFs being revamped you have a choice what to fly for almost all factions.
My greatest fear in 4.85 is capital ships. I am sure that up to now you all realized potential of capital ships. I don't have anything against them , and i was one of people that were for upping caps but I am afraid of people who don't know how to conduct in game and people who will use battleships to kill LFs and HFs....
hmm the rheinland bomber was the last ship i flew in 4.84 and the first i flew in 4.85. about 5 hours between those flights and just as i launched from the base and turned to dock with a tradelane my first feeling was oh wow it turns much slower. and it sure wasnt a placebo effect cause i expected the agility to be changed. i was told that only the weird guns and the general texture would be fixed.
on another note the luxury liner seems to move much quicker, did you do something to improve its agility or do i spread a myth there now?
It seems to me that the Nyx's agility, meaning either turn speed, mass, got a bit lower.
That might be just a consequence of the altered model and my perspective, but I am not sure.

<span style="color:#000000">All morons hate it when you call them a moron.
Luxury Liner turns and reacts exactly the same
RH bomber turns and reacts exactly the same
Viper MKII turns and reacts exactly the same (but different model changes the "feeling" a lot yes)
Thank you for providing more examples of where perception modifies reality.
(no pun intended)

the luxury liner handles better and now i know why: the spinning fix for capital ships lets the ship dodge a bit sideways when it hits an asteroid but stays on course. before the fix the liner just spinned around like every other cap and you needed to turn it around into the wanted direction again. this provides the the impression that it handles better through the asteroids.
for the rh bomber, well perhaps the new textures make it look less agile.
' Wrote:Truth: Lux Liner can nose-ram Manhatten and not get damaged.. That happened on accident last night.
Not that I'm complaining, with a hold worth over 8 million creds, just bizarre. I'd assume other large-sized ships act similarly.
Truth: Lib Carrier can do the same thing.
Also truth: Suns instakill carriers. (NOT fun)

Except for the small problem of "Oh-no-I-can-only-fire-one-full-power-Kraken-shot!"
