It cannot shoot directly behind itself. It can shoot 3 behind and left, 3 behind and right. Switching between the two causes all the turrets to rotate completely, which takes a few seconds.
I purchased a Luxury yacht yesterday and I've got some thoughts on it;
Pros: Flies like a dream, excellent armour, good size, 2CMs :cool: Oh, and looks great.
Cons: Lacking in firepower. 'Enough firepower to knock a small moon out of orbit' ?? Really? hehe
I would recommend, upping its reactor to around half that of a gunboat, say 250,000, and make its 5 turret slots all class 8.
This would allow it to defend itself well, but the limited reactor would disallow people from loading up on too much heavier weaponry like missile turrets and razors.
Ideally the yacht should have enough power to fire a razor or something similar from that limited-arc hardpoint on its nose, and keep another 4 regular GB turrets pumping.
If you didnt increase the reactor to this level and just made them class 8 hardpoints anyway, then the reactor would be drained in a few seconds flat.

I think the basic intent of this ship, correct me if I am wrong Jinx, was an RP ship. I plan on buying one for use in OSI. It will be mainly our mobile HQ and luxury home for my CEO Samuel Nichols. It's more of a sign of wealth then power. Although with those turrets it will atleast survive being in the Omega's where OSI operates.
There's no doubt it's an RP ship - no one's buying this thing for any reason other than because they can and they want to be seen in it.
Still, the idea than an 'RP ship' has to be rather terrible at combat implies that combat is oorp and for pvp whores. Not a great statement.
Fact is, this is a ship for people that can have anything. And it seems like people want something with a little more. If this was the real world, there'd be another ship that was a little better, and that's the one everyone would buy.
Personally, for me, it's just a looks/knowledge thing. I'm not going to roll into any PvP, not unless I'm attacked, and even then I'll probably try to flee. But I'd just like to fly something that had a little firepower along with everything else the yacht has. And isn't flying something you want to the entire point of the yacht?
Thing is though folks, once you look past the limited-arc gb turret, what you effectively have with the Luxury Yacht is a very expensive transport that costs 70-odd million and has only 1500 hold. Oh, and only has 4 transport turrets.
Remember, that the very wealthy often have many enemies. Nobody gets rich by making friends. The yacht should reflect that fact.
