well yes, but a few modifications would be needed. that isn't as easy a change as the others. i would suggest adding 1-2 GB turrets on the SHF's, however a lot of balancing would need to happen with that.
EDIT: a bit off topic yes but the point is that the SN is fine how it is...it's the ships, i think, that need changing.
I don't like the mangling of the VHF; I'm pretty happy with how they are now.
However, this was mentioned in skype as well, maybe messing with 48k bombers a bit? Like one CD/T slot and one CD, something to put them more in the scale of what your post had for VHFs.
it just seems everything is all mixed together right now. each ship being able to be molded into multiple roles.
cap ships were made to require escorts, i think bombers should be made to require escorts also, VHF's might benefit from them as well but not near as much as bombers. going along the lines of thinking that was used on capships it makes sense...to me anyway.

Again, only way to hit dodging fighter is SN-ramming him, which is not really possible in most situations. Second way to hit from side or back is when the fighter is flying in a straight line, which is not dodging, in my opinion. The SN isnt so fast to hit in a chase. For some reason you people have this preconceived idea that anyone who dies to an SN either jousted a bomber or EKilled too long. So what, just because certain people learn to kill people with one weapon, that makes it in need of a nerf? Sure, the SNAC was never intended to be a fighter-fighter weapon. Even with the proposed nerf in this thread, I sure as hell wouldn't stop killing fighters with it. If anything I'd do it more, just to rub it in your face that you can nerf my equipment all you want, but it won't make you a better pilot than me. In fact, it will make me a better pilot than you, because I'll still be beating you with inferior equipment.
So Even if the SN was made to only do 132000 damage vs Freighters, Transports, Trains, and Caps. While only doing say.... 15,000 against fighters, you would somehow instakill them with it even though a MR at 19k can't? I smell a modder.
Right, you solely use SN to instakill people on a bomber, however, I use guns. You really think that continuing to use SN to try and get kills after a possible nerf making its damage worthless against fighters and other bombers would give you some mysterious advantage?
Now, since I skipped over it for a moment, I'd like to point out at this time that:
Missiles don't insta kill
Mini Razors don't insta kill
Nuke Mines don't insta kill
Infernos sure as hell don't insta kill
Edit: The comments about making bombers less agile / less fighter-equipped (less guns, basing each off the fafnir) are good, if people are so against dropping instakills (remember what happened to Missiles and Nukes vs Vanila ships on this too...) close and start making suggestions as to how to better define each ship class.

And I still don't think SNs are overpowered.
Because this was a fluke, and from my exp. flying bombers, it's very hard to hit a fighter with it, near impossible if he knows you're trying.
Also, it is my strong belief that bombers are supposed to be able to SN other bombers.
As for fighters, it's very hard anyways.
For a decrease in damage the SN does, I'd agree decreasing the damage only for fighters. Bombers should take the full heat IMO.

Please point out to me where in my post I ever mentioned "Instakilling" someone with a nerfed SNAC. Your accusations are both inaccurate and insulting, and you're obviously just pissed off. More assumptions. I actually kill more people with my guns than my SNAC on my bomber. So you are, once again, just spouting nonsense. You obviously failed to understand the meaning of the post you quoted, so just forget it.

No, they don't. But that wasn't my point. All of the above require skill to use effectively (Even missiles). The SNAC may insta-kill, but it also requies more skill to kill someone with it, than say, Missiles or Mini Razors. (And also, nuke mines insta kill Light Fighers)
Your post replies to none of the points I brought up in mine, please re read it again when you have calmed down and make a proper reply, instead of simply spouting nonsense, making false assumptions and simply missing the point and/or only reading what you want to.
