The wing will be the assassins and hatchet men of the Congress. They will come in, blitzkrieg their assigned targets with a multitude of death and roleplay, and then disappear before reinforcements arrive. A focus will be on being 'unseen' (in roleplay, obviously the louder the better for player enjoyment on all sides.) The tag will differ for deniability purposes. In roleplay, Jackal Wing and the Congress do not meet and absolutely do not work together. Callsigns will be chosen over names, again to protect impacted Junker parties due to the black ops nature of this organization.
The ships used will be primarily fighters, with a bomber or two and a freighter for the heavy lifting. Armament and ships will be primarily Junker as a statement, with a smattering of Civilian equipment.
I'm still compiling the players and will likely be swarmed in inquiries when this is posted. Any thoughts on the matter?
But seriously. It would make sense for the Junkers to have something like this to deal with people who screw up all that diplomatic scheming you do. I don't think I'll be on the receiving end of their guns on any of my characters, maybe that's why I'm looking forward to seeing this. >_>
Yeah I think I approve of this. It could be done badly (like just having them sit around yanagi or whatever) but I know you Rudo and you wont let it go down like that. This is our drive-by shooting car for when talking fails. As long as they're used rarely and/or wisely, I approve.
Also, what dirty civilian ships are you planning to put in?

The Civilian ships would be more the exception than the rule. The wing should be primarily Junker ships -- the Bull Dog is ideal for this sort of thing, the Junker Bomber is a colossal torpedo-slinging tank and the Waran is a flying power reactor that can fire all the anti-cap armament you could want.
Civilian ships would include ships like the Crow, Eagle/Griffin/Falcon shipline, and the Civilian Bomber. Again, these ships would be the exception rather than the rule. I don't want to hear "this ship is better" or "we're a rich faction and we can afford a whole wing of Rocs" or anything such. Using Junker ships to do dastardly things is like leaving a rose at the scene of the crime. It's about style rather than pvp dominance.
And yes, they're not going to be used much. There are members of the actual Congress who do a fine job on the everyday stuff. This is just the hit squad for when we don't want our hands dirty and don't want to be implicated in the death of someone important. They will be called in for events when they are warranted, or the call will be put out to Skype that someone important is spotted somewhere, and we are to enact a dramatic impression on him before scrubbing him from existence. Seeing them flying about freely on their own, with the exception of setting up or going to PR/Connecticut to practice will lead to bad things happening to that guy. I don't want to even see them online unless they know what they're doing.
We might even decry the Jackals as 'detrimental to our cause' and enforce sanctions (think UN sanctions, not admin sanctions) on them, etc. And there will be no direct proof because of measures I am going to instruct every member of the Congress to take in regards to them.
I'll write up an official document with better-organized details and publish it on these forums as well as our external hub. It's in my gigantic 'To Do' list of paperwork regarding the faction with the new mod.
PS: This is all meta-knowledge. If I see this thrown at us later on because I said it here OOC I am going to be upset. I'm just putting it here to set an example of laying our cards down for all to see. Many factions have reams of documents and lore that have never made it to the public, so when they do certain things it's lost on people 'not in the know'.
I am trying to steer the Congress toward transparency, especially when it comes to building a "secret" strike force that may make someone not expecting to be swarmed by fighters upset. The more people know what we do and why we do it, the more they will understand us and the better they can play with us.
Leaving a rose at the scene of the crime...I like it.
Sign me up for a bull dog then, I guess. No one can accuse me of picking the most powerful option, but it certainly has its unique style. Plus, with its unique camouflage, it will be impossible to spot in the dense jungles and forests of open space.
And yes, I'd like to see the maturity and seperation between player and character when dealing with meta knowledge and other such things in these sorts of situations.

On the style subject, look at the Crow. Even the infocard says it's basically spare parts. It may not be a Junker ship, but it does fit the mold quite well.
Not that I care much either way. Even if I was in, I'd be happy with a Bulldog.
Count me in. Sorry so short but that says it all. The ships I have to contribute are the Waran and the Bulldog. Let me know when and where you want it done and I'll do what needs to be done.
Sound like a good idea mate. but aren't the junkers supposed to be more laid back? And have only a small bit of militia? Other than the fact that thy really are not supposed to have that sort of thing, it seems cool!
