the SCRA, an entire shipline for how many players? and not-so active.
the harvesters are a small group, although it looks pretty and is needed by those who are in the faction.
if it's so light, whouldent it be a gunship? as well as the conference?
We happen to have more players than we can handle and quite active.
Matter of factly, I never see YOU online. Maybe because, I dont know, you live on the other side of the world while most SCRA live on another side? duh?
quit whining.
Also. Does harvester really need that many ships? You already said the fighters really are components of the cruisers. Seeing they are random AI entity with no imagination (because... they have none) I doubt they'd build anything more than that.
Moar Harvester activity, then they may deserve the ships they almost had :o
But yes, considering they lost those other two ships because of their almost complete lack of caring about the mod till they got their 1337 ships, I really really really think they shouldn't be given a gunboat like this.
That said, lovely model. Organic design that fits well with the generic AI ship theme currently and just looks..good:)(As usual Jinx:rolleyes:)
Give a it a large cargo pod/pods type section under the Upper tentacle/hull
Make it Frigate class.
Jobs a good 'un.
Now it can fly with Drone wingmen or as a cargo transport/support for the Cruisers.
And nobody can call them Cap whores because Frigates are Transports

Great job Jinx! Just the thing i wanted to see
Now to some points:
1) Yes, we would use the ship, but some of you are forgetting that we don't have exclusive rights to it so its not really ours is it? People are planing new AI faction concepts (hopefully no imports) as we speak and I've seen some indy AI floating around, you can never know who's really ever gonna fly those ships.
2) The design is based on the harvester history (daam k'vosh and squid-like ships) and i think this gunboat would be a great addition to balance and roleplay.
3) As for PVP, we do need a gunboat, whether it's a small agile anti fighter or a 8-turret lunchbox-reincarnate.
4) Our faction needs a middle-raked vessel for the advanced member instead of just
senior=Cruiser & new recruit=Marsflyer.
roleplay? what roleplay? How is a gunboat going to affect harvester "roleplay"?
Harvesters have no ranks.
They are defined by their seniority by numbers and those numbers aren't too revelative... just that they were built sooner. they all obey one voice, and there's no such thing as sub command - from what I know, and from logical point of view...

Wrong.
we have 2 sets of ranks: (more than the common faction)
1) by "closeness" to the root program (aka the numbers and leadership)
2) by intellect (aka the ships and loadout)
the second is another reason why it would help our roleplay. We have 6 stages of intellect
in total. Each stage requires certain parameters to be met.
but now we only use our 2 designed ships, and it would look ugly to mix our
"original" look with human-made ships. We have a chance to be completely separate
and to do it with style.
The AI line is quickly becoming my favorite in the mod, Jinx.
Great design.
The only thing I'd suggest changing is the last curvy bit of the bottom "tentacles". I can't place my finger on it, but something about their shape seems a little off to me. Maybe it's that they curve back in at the end, rather than ending straight.
