From what I understand, Agiera makes the Gate/lane parts in Pueblo and ships them to Trenton in New York. From Trenton Universal Shipping transports them to their final destination for assembly by DSE.
Can demand Gate/Lane Parts from anyone carrying them within their zone of influence except:
o DSE, House Police or House Militaries
Ok, so why isn't Universal listed there?
the DSE ID says :
* Can lawfully transport Gate/Lane parts
But the Universal ID doesn't....?
Am I missing something here? Did Agiera give Universal the boot?
Now, onto the Liberty Law about this commodity:
Corporate Crimes
* Violation of Trade Secrets; Defined as the violation of the implicit confidential and lawful trade practices of a commercial entity. Most commonly applied to non-Ageira or Ageira-authorised holders of Gate/Lane parts. Penalty is 500,000 credits.
Ok, now why would you fine an AUTHORIZED USER? Also, from what I read here, it doesn't require the unauthorized holder to drop said parts, so it looks like you fine them and send them on their way.
In fact, It seems the only entity that can demand gate/lane parts is Agiera itself.
So, in summation, I ask this:
Does the Agiera ID and the Universal ID need fixed?
What can be done about the Lib law about them?

Where did you get that information from?
I can't follow you there, sorry.

I am also sure I saw a info card in game that states the Universal ships gate / lane parts too. Will look for it after work today.
Hmm, this seems to be handled differently in Discovery. I just checked, it would cost you quite a lot of money to ship Laneparts to Trenton.
So I think your Freelancer Guide was written for Vanilla Freelancer, not for Discovery which sits at a later position in Sirius' timeline. I guess Universal has lost the privilege of transporting Tradelaneparts for a reason.

Kinda sounds like it....
Can we have the Dev team weigh in? If Universal lost the contract, well, thats that. Business happens.

In 4.84 there were still rumors around Universal and Ageira bases that supported the vanilla deal with Universal. I brought it up in the ID Proposal thread, and one other one, without any definitive answer.
For the DSE faction, I sort of side-stepped the issue by having DSE buy up Duchess Shipping (the unofficial faction I originally planned to make official, which morphed into DSE) to relieve some dependence on Universal and give DSE a smallish foothold in the freight market. But this doesn't come close to fixing the Universal Shipping ID issue.
Besides the information on these IDs, I have seen no indication that Universal Shipping has been jostled out of the loop in Discovery. We need more information, dev team!
