Not sure if this is a Freelancer based bug, but usually when I get LA'd en route in a trade lane, the lights on the lanes indicating the direction of which ring goes which where, does not show up. This requires one of two things to take place.
A.) You dock with it and find out which one is which. Which does not work out well because chances are when this happens, the lane is disrupted and you have to wait forever for it to come back up.
B.) You locate the gun on the rings and find which ring has a gun mounted in the direction you want to go, which always works.
Neither one is easy to do when you have a crapload of hostile NPC's trying to push your s*** in.
So, I was wondering if it would be possible to modify the lanes to include something other than the light indicating which direction is which.
EDIT: That, or merge them all to act just like the Nomad lanes. Those ones go in the opposite side from which you are on, and are a single ring.
While being quite funny, your sig was the biggest one i've ever seen so far. No more than 700x250 please. ~utrack http://pastebin.com/SYQXBufs
See the lines heading one way on the tradelanes? When heading in the same direction as the lines, the traveling lane is the top one. When heading opposite, it is the bottom lane.
Edit: Requires practice if you want to do it with speed.

Interesting. Didn't notice this. Thought the lights just move into a random direction. Heh, you never know all about this! Not even after 5 years!
In a brilliant tactical movement, i charged backwards.
I use the same lanes constantly while tradeing so I've learnt which ones do what. Suggest you familiarize yourself with your usual flight path (if you have one). Oh and I didn't know about the lights.
Just hit dock and your ship should point at the right lane, unless you are to close. Guaranteed to work every time.
My favourite strategy is to hit dock, then once the ship is facing the right direction enter free flight, then hit dock again when I am right up to it.
' Wrote:Folks, the lane you can dock with has Green lights and the one that is going to opposite direction has Red lights.
Don't feel too bad about it, took me a while to notice too.
Which,as someone pointed out in another thread - does those of us who are red/green colorblind not much good. And I have no idea if those colors I just chose are correct, either.

You picked red and orange, and you don't have to speed dock.
