It's just WorldLingo translation to Spanish, but you get the idea.
Well trying to translate 'Attention! Attention! Drop that cargo!' gave me 'Aufmerksamkeit! Aufmerksamkeit! Lassen Sie diese Ladung fallen!' but I'm sure the tone of voice and the 'Drop Cargo' window would get you understand what the NPC wants... no doubt about it.
If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I. Yap... I must side with Night on this topic. It could work but not so easy. I know some german, some spanish and some english. I must say that maybe for native english speaker it's not incredibly hard to guess the meaning of something spelled in german (even if it's not very easy if you've never been abroad) but for sure if you are a latin native speaker (spanish, portugese or italian) it's almost impossible to guess the meaning of anything spelled in german if you don't know already some german.

Lump, I was trying to be funny. I could say 'Achtung! Achtung! ...'

I like Nightfall's idea. Rhineland is German so they would speak German. Also the only thing NPC's say that is of importance is "Drop your cargo!!!" and that shows up in a box so everyone would know what that means.
It would kinda be sweet hearing different languages. (especially Japaneese in Kusari)
Well, there would be a lot of disadvantages on that one:
it'll make the mod HUGE
since the same files are used for all the events, it would mean that we shall have actually 1 version of the file for every language - means 5 versions at least
we don't have a British accent, also, no Japanese version as much as I know, I think we would be having only Spanish and German (I speak of the version of FL, there is also French and I think I saw screens showing Russian)
not to mention the huge amount of ini editing...
these are just from the top

Chya.....but it would be sweet, i mean, discovery is already like an expansion pack to the original game so making it like 500megs is no big deal.
As to the controllers and ini editing, i dont nkow about you people but i can program and i would donate time to make Freelancer more realistic (if that is the appropriate word).

Zapp Wrote:I have recently met and discussed with Atalawohisdi the trader that flies the Caribe. Just so everyone knows, I engaged in Sigma 13. He flies through half the system before going back to New Berlin, where he cruises from one side of the system to the other, hugging the sun as close as he can. All the while, he flies near Battleships trying to scrape me off. I finally send out the white flag, and move back to Sigma 13. However, it was a ruse, and he bit. Knowing his trade route, I interdicted the trade lane and the chase began anew. It ended, an hour after it began, with me retreating, out of Countermeasures and getting very irritated.
He kept boasting how he has never been caught; I'd like to see him beat until he begs to pay, then beaten some more.
