I like the idea of bomber-specific guns, tho. Like a sub-par Inferno...a hard-hitting, power-hungry shieldbuster with a speed around 300-400, ideal for knocking the tail end off of cruiser shields, but not effective for taking out fighters (unless the fighter decides to park in front of you...). Might put an end to all the "bombers r overpowered, nerf them to 1 hull, class 2 LF shields and give them battleship turning"...
Bomber vs bomber fights are rather common, and to me they are the most exciting of all. Especially when I was fighting Sindys' Barghest in my Falcata, my four guns was barely enough to bring down his massive freighter shield, and he had usually MRed me down to half, or lower hull by the time I got his shield down once.
I dislike the idea of bomber specific weapons as well. I never mount shield buster guns on my bombers because it reduces my ability to fight off other Bombers and Fighters. And lets face it, as a pirate I need to be ready to fight anything from a swarm of LPI Liberators to a horde of Bombers right up to Cruisers and LABCs. Very rarely do I have to fight Battleships, though.
But, this isn't about bombers, this is about missiles. Missiles, coincidently are ideal for killing bombers from my own personal experience. It's nearly impossible to dodge Sidewinders in a Barghest, and it makes it harder to SNAC your opponent when you got missiles raining down on you. Missiles for that purpose are ideal.

This is exactly why the idea of bomber specific weapons exists.
Ugh will people stop crying over missiles being too strong or have too good in tracking ability? I've lost the number of times I've or other pilots I fight with, die from the explosions of their own missiles while fighting pirates (players). Yet the sad thing is the opponents never lose more than their own shields when hit by two sidewinders. Whats next, after they nurf missiles, will Code weapons be next?
Necromancy is bad. Bombers are fine. Missiles are annoying, but just get behind the user and you'll be fine.
