Cruiser razors =/= Gunboat razors
Gunboat razors are somewhat universal. You can snipe bombers and slower VHFs with pulse+razor combo, but its not very reliable, if you dont joust the target, you will have hard time hitting something.
Anti-fighter should be Solaris + some missiles (depends on powerplant) but since Solarises suck, and ordinary gunboat turrets are almost the same in projectile speed, normal turrets usually do well too. (at least BHG turrets, which have around 1400m/s, which is rougly 100-150m/s less than solaris).
I think the biggest issue that I have with this is simple.
This is supposed to be a big, bad gunship that's out to hunt bombers.
I happened across a Rheinland Super Heavy VHF recently. He had more bots and bats than I did. I had 4 weapons available to face him. He had more facing me. Um - what's wrong with that picture?
And while I tend to not win too many of my PvP combats, I also tend to fight quite well defensively and survive. It's only when I get blown up by my allies that I have major problems. :)
The problem is the BHG GS atm might as well just be a SHF with a big shield that can't mount a SNAC. When you compare it to a ship that can mount 4+ FWD facing class 9/10 guns plus class 5 turrets, a GS with 4 BHG turrets isn't doing enough extra damage to justify the cost, weak armor or reduced maneuverability. That's not even counting a lucky SNAC hit.
IMHO the current state of the GS is a kneejerk reaction to what was a previously overpowered, unbalanced ship that was highly abused. At the very least give it full forward arcs.
Just as we reap the golden wheat, must we also cut free of the chains! [eS]
Well, then, mount something else than 4 BHG turrets? Ooor... fly it differently?
There are a few posts that say GS is wrong, yet others that say it is OK (by its users). I'd say it just doesn't suit some people, that's quite natural. Learn to work with it or get a different ship, I'd say.

The gunship's greatest asset, like most gunboats, is its shield.
