[same as post #4: //I'm just saying this now before even this gets out of hand. We can not, and will not completely "take" Tenacity's rank in the Order etc. It's not fair to a community members, and this is intended for in-rp only. Yes, there may be some temporary removal of power, but we will not be completely taking away the rank nor power nor anything from Tenacity permanantly, it simply isn't fair and is intended for rp purposes. This was discussed by me and some Corsair Elders.]
*Grand Admiral Sius Malacos walked up to the podium prepared for him in Toledo's largest open hall. Various pilots and leaders from the Order, Corsairs, and even Zoners have gathered for what has been called a first in Order history. Malacos didn't see this as an easy thing to do, but it had to be done either way. He sipped some water from the glass on the podium and began to talk."
Greetings all, fellow pilots, and our esteemed allies, the Corsairs and Zoners.
As you may be aware, there have been recent... arguments between the Order and Corsairs. These are regarding mainly the trade of artifacts, as well as the usage and sharing of Order and Corsair technology, both in weaponry and vessels.
One of the major voices for the Order, Aki Kimura, has done a lot of talking in these arguments, some of which has led to some hostility towards the Corsairs, and has threatened our alliances.
In these past weeks, I have recieved both mail and visits from many concerned pilots from both the Order and Corsairs regarding Kimura's actions.
Therefor, based on popular demand, and in the danger of hostility between the Order and the Corsairs, I hereby request the Court Martialing of Admiral Aki Kimura, of the Order High Command. If granted, Admiral Kimura is to be stripped from her rank and position in the Order High Command, and perhaps replaced with a member of the primary or secondary fleets. This isn't easy for me as Kimura is a close frined of mine, however I must speak for my pilots, and am therefor doing my duty speaking here infront of you all. I wish to bring this to the attention of the other High Command members, as it will be us who will decide the actions that will befold on Admiral Kimura.
For right now there is not much to say. I have personally stepped in in these... talks between the Corsairs and the Order, and have relieved my officers of this duty so I may personally attempt to set records straight again.
If there are any involved parties or independant, both Order or Corsair, who have any comment on this Court Martial, please speak so now. I hope to resolve this situation as soon as possible and move on with our lives.
Thank you for your time.
*Upon his closing words, Sius stepped off to the side and walked back out the side door he came in from back to how office wispering only one word to himself... "damnit"...*
' Wrote:Juan had walked in just before the announcement by the Grand Admiral had begun, and lent against the back wall with his eyes closed, listening to the speech. Juan hadn't been one to directly complain about Aki Kimura's words or actions, but he had certainly made his opinions against her known, as had many other Corsairs.
As Admiral Malacos stepped off of his podium, Juan began a slow, loud clap. No one joined in, which was his aim. It was a loud, shrill clap, meant to draw attention rather than to start a cheer.
Stepping up to the podium, Juan picked something out of his pocket. A hastily written script, simply with notes on it, rather than a full speech. Upon hearing that there was going to be a court martial, Juan had raced over to Toledo in his Titan as fast as he could, traversing the thankfully quiet Omicron Kappa and Delta with the other Elders of the Brotherhood in tow.
They were busy sorting out the parking, but had agreed that Juan should go on ahead. That proved to be a good decision, otherwise all of them would have missed the speech.
Coughing to clear his throat, Juan began his response.
Upon this matter, I do not have that much to say. Let me, however, start by saying that I and most, if not all of the Brotherhood, and likely many Corsairs, welcome this move. Aki Kimura's reputation often precedes her within Corsair society, and her name is used liberally by orators who vehemently disagree with the alliance between the Corsairs and the Order. Thankfully, Sius' quick action and hopefully a well deserved punishment administered to Admiral Kimura will all but mute those somewhat currently loud voices.
I would wish to see Admiral Kimura stripped of most, if not all her rank, and taught again what it means to be able to hold your tongue when dealing with sensitive matters of diplomacy. I am no expert on the disciplinary measures that the Order employs however, so anything else that I suggest in this area will likely be either too tame or too violent.
Personally, I would be willing to reset the relations between the Order and the Corsairs, and by extension, the Brotherhood. We could solidify this with a new deal as Sius Malacos stated in a transmission not too long ago. That is neither here nor there right now, though.
I look forward to watching proceedings unfold.
With that, he stepped off of the podium. The crowd was murmuring, some with nods of approval and others with rasping disapproval. Oh well, Juan thought, he came to say his piece and he had done so for the time being. Of course, if something else popped up, he would intervene.
For now, he resumed his position leaning against a wall in the back of the hall, and patiently waited for his comrades to join him.
' Wrote:Matt had been chosen to represent the Order in the galaxys ever changing realm of politics no more than a month ago. With the weight of responsibility and the feeling of duty in him, he stepped up to the podium, a speech clutched in his nervous hands. He took a deep breath and began
As many of you here know, Mrs. Kumari has been with us for quite some time. I, on the other hand, have not been with the Order for as long. But, even with the short amount of time that I was able to discuss the going ons of our relationships, I have been able to witness Mrs. Kumaris forceful and misrepresentative delegation on behalf of the Order. Her actions were unsanctified and, I believe, were unfit for the friendly talks that we had with our allies. Our communications were to solve problems, not create them. Kumari did not seem to want to comply with this. Other order representatives including myself had no communications privately with Mrs. Kumari, and unfortunately we had to solve our internal problems in public. This as you may guess, is embarrassing. Mrs. Kumari may be a respected veteran of the Order forces, but her irrespective nature has no excuse. Thank you.
Ending his speech with more confidence than he started with, Matt steps down from the podium and resumes his seat, waiting patiently for the next speaker.
// This topic provides an excellent opportunity for Role Play with the Corsairs about pressing matters. I do not believe that it deserved to get locked simply because people cannot hold their personal quorals to themselves and not deal with them in OoRP fashion in the RP part of the forum.
Members of the High Command where stationed in the middle of the large structure. Surrounded by the majority of the Order and their guests as well , each of the members of the High Command was clearly visible from all angles. The only one missing from the Council was the admiral in question , Aki Kimura. Everyone in the large room was passionately discussing their own opinion in the matter , after the first Corsair Elder gave his opinion in the matter , which only resulted in adding more fuel to the fire.
A man quickly appeared , running towards the tribunal of the High Command. After a quick check up from the security around the council members , he was allowed to come close to the Grand Admiral. He quickly whispered something in his ear and the Grand Admirals mood suddenly changed , his face darkened and after a quick apology , he left the podium with haste.
The messenger then came close to Mirage. She looked at the man , he was breathing heavily , proof that he was running to reach this place as fast as possible. The man appeared to be focused only on the message he needed to deliver to the High Command , it was obvious that even if he got stabbed right now , he probably wont feel a thing.
One deep look into his eye's from Mirage was enough to read this mans mind. There was nothing much left there , he was simply repeating the message in his thoughts again and again.
** Admiral Kimura has been reported missing , her ships location is unknown! **
When the messenger leaned forward to whisper in Mirage's ear , she stopped him with the words.
" No need , I know everything I need to. "
Shocked , the man simply walked towards the next members of the High Command.
' We didn't even have to decide her faith , she signed her death herself '
The whispering messenger and the sudden , hasty departure of the Grand Admiral added even more fuel to the fire , which was burning within the large room. Everyone , seemed to have his own theory on what was going on and what actions the Order should take. It was time to end this and the actual discussions to begin.
" SILENCE ! " - Mirage didn't shout that order , her deep tone and the emotionless look she had on her face , where enough to silence the entire room. All members of the Order looked at the remaining members of the High Command for answers. The Grand Hall of the Order , filled with so much commotion and passionate discussion , was finally calm.
For a meeting with the Corsairs and various members of The Order , Mirage didn't choose her official clothing. On the contrary , she was in her battle "uniform" which was actually a thick white armor , covering her entire body , safe for her head. A dark mantle waved from he back , wearing the insignia of Mirage's department.
" Dear allies and fellow agents of The Order , it appears that we have allowed nothing more but shallow whispers and rumors to shake the foundations of the most organized and trained organization in Sirius! I believe that in moments , such as this , we are unworthy of that title , since many of you choose to continue to support and believe in pointless and false discussions and make public statements about the sanity of the High Command with no fear of punishment or dignity ! This is directed towards the members of the Order , not the Corsair Empire. "
A small pause followed , Mirage was furious , but emotions never showed on her face. Her entirely white profile was in complete contrast with the black armor of the two men which stood at her sides.
" Various members of the Order , spoke about the Corsairs as conspirators , who wish nothing more but the destruction of our organization , who do so behind the scenes and who do not deserve our trust , our help and most of all , our respect towards them. To all of you who wonder about such things , I have but one thing to ask you. Why did they not do so when The Order was vulnerable and only had a couple of ships at it's disposal ? Why wait until we have grown in power , knowledge and our fleet has become much larger ? "
Many , of The Order's agents did not expect to hear this. Most of them wished to hear exactly what did the messenger whisper to the members of the HC.
" The answer is simple , my fellow agents. The Corsair Empire supported us in our most darkest hour , when The Order was nothing more then a whisper , a gossip , a dying force. It was only because of their help , that we survived to become what we are now. The Corsair Empire has earned our respect and has earned our help. Thanks to them , I now stand in front of you. Because in nothing more but good will , did one of the oldest Corsair familias left the safety of their home to aid a freshly settled force in the Omicrons. That is my familia , Bre'Delakorsa. "
" Judge not the Corsairs about their questions towards Kimura! They have every right to deny her the technology she asks for. Much more when she does not show any form of respect towards the Corsairs in her request and did not consult with the rest of the Order High Command. I'd expect nothing less from the Corsair Empire and rest assured , my fellow agents of the Order , I understand their distrust towards her. "
" Shaking the foundations of our most trusted and needed allies is not something The Order should do and each and every agent , who does so will stand before trial , to account for his actions. "
" We should strive to form new alliances and unite mankind , not crumple old ones in personal quorals and by doing so , jeopardize the safety of The Order. "
" We have grown much in both numbers and strength , since the time we depended on the Corsairs. Our forces now are stronger then they ever where before and it is no lie that we are completely independent from the Corsair Empire at the moment. But we must and we will not forget where we started from and who was there to support us. "
As Mirage sat down , silence filled the entire room.
A young Corsair sitting at the back raised his hand. An Order Admiral at the front nodded, recognising him to the stand. He pushed his way to the front, and nervously took the stand. On his uniform hang a Benitez medallion.
Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a tablet device, and began to read from it.
Quote:"Esteemed Admirals of the Order High Command, fellow warriors.
I have sent a representative to this meeting rather than attend myself as I believe it unworthy of a Don of the historic Benitez family to waste his valuable time in search of the blood of Order allies.
I will not deny that past exchanges with your Admiral Aki Kimura have been infuriating. It is my opinion that she is severely prejudiced against the Corsair people, unwilling to speak to even the most esteemed of Corsair commanders as equals. I suspect this is not her fault, but a fault of her origins in Kusari.
Furthermore, Admiral Kimura has stated on numerous occasions that she does not share the view of a majority of members of the Order High Command that we Corsairs were key to the survival of your organisation. We are each welcome to have our own opinions on the history of our peoples, but the greatest and perhaps only mistake the Admiral made was to imply, perhaps unknowingly, that her personal opinions were that of the Order High command itself.
The very fact that this assembly has been called is proof enough that her personal opinions and prejeduces were NOT shared by the Order at large. It is therefore clear that, for the most part, the Order do value Corsair support and do recognise the important role the Corsair Empire played in ensuring the Order organisation survived and kept the fight for humanity alive.
Satisfied that the Order do not hold our Empire in contempt, value our support and do not deny our history, I have no intention of giving testimony against the Admiral. I will only suggest that the Order High Command should consider weather Ms. Kimura is the best person to represent Order in future diplomatic talks between our peoples.
Les saluda atentamente, Commandante Don Carlos Benitez "
The Don's message to the assembly delivered, the young Benitez returned to his seat.
The wiry young man lurking behind the hulking frame of his personal guards stood and awaited a nod from the Admirals to say his part. Assurance to speak came.
"I am Sparta. My father knew many of you from the time he shared in battles with the people of the Order. My fathers legacy was to ensure a continuing peace between what he deemed an essential part of corsair life. A symbiotic relationship between the corsairs and the Order. I intend with my whole heart to honour his wishes that the relationship remain fruitful to both parties. Admirals I am dissapointed that some of the corsairs have reacted with such zealous anger however I cannot take away anything from them as that is their prerogative as Corsairs. The words of Don Carlos have reassured me that the Corsairs are now thinking straight once more. He is an amigo and I trust him dearly. His own life is like my own in many ways."
Sparta moved forward into the centre of the chamber intent on being heard by all.
"I want it to be clear that the OPG and Order forces will stand together in battle against the nomad threat, the bounty hunters and should you ever face an invasion from Liberty I will send the entire OPG fleet to aid you. Such is my determination to ensure peace between our peoples I give this oath today. Those of you who remember Gentle will remember his lack of diplomatics and mastery of the art of war. I intend to bring balance to the Omega forces and though we may not be present within your zone of influence often should you call on us we will assist."
Sparta surveyed the faces and noted a slight smile on a couple of the admirals faces. Feeling his confidence grow sparta continued.
"I previously made the offer to share some vessels with Aki. With Aki gone I must now retract that offer. I am dissapointed that Aki is not present here as I looked forward to meeting such a strong and clearly battle hardened commander and I would have been able to offer my support. I am certain that no wall is without ears. My message to her is that some corsairs cannot afford to hold grudges although some no doubt may do. I am not one of those that will. My offer of frinedship is extended to her should she return to the Order. Regarding the sharing of technology, certainly I think this is something our people should be doing in the short term to ensure our survival as independent peoples. Omega Pirates are often at the forefront of wars against a myriad host and often we feel the need of our allies more than those who for good reason defend Crete while we form a barrier against the hessians. It is this that the OPG would now require your support in return for our own. Please forgive my forwardness however my opportunities to put my case forward are limited because of the attacks taking place in the Omegas systems. Think well on these words and the offers I make today Admirals. I entrust your wisdom will prevail as my estranged father predicted while he was still lucid. One further thing I ask. SHould you ever encounter my father. Kill him or capture him so that I may do so."
The youths hard face showed no emotion as he withdrew to the stalls with his guards.
Ensign *static* sat in the audience without drawing attention to himself, with a transmitting video camera in his glasses and a receiving microphone tucked under his combat uniform.
There was a communication piece in his ear.
"Are you getting all this?" His clenched jaw barely moved as he whispered.
"Yes. Just sit still, keep transmitting and await orders." Arata Takuma replied breathlessly, recording every whisper in the room, clearing out the background noise, saving it as an individual file and ranking each file by importance.
Commander Turner was in the Bubble with him taking notes.
Following their escort, Ruuku Ochi and several other Hogosha representatives took seats in one of several balconies of the Grand Hall. He looked around and took mental notes on who was present; there were many he did not recognize. Ruuku was present at the Kusari meetings when the Admiral Aki Kimura's arrogance threatened the Order's alliance with the Hogosha; he did not like this woman and was quite happy to see her carrier in jeopardy.
Duty and honour
Elder Ruuku Ochi, So-Honbucho of The Black Dragon Society
There was little need to keep the parade going any longer. Since it was painfully obvious to everyone that the High Command have made a terrible mistake and the fact that all of the Elders of Crete where expecting to see an actual court martial , Mirage though that saving at least some of The Order's dignity in the eyes of one of their most trusted allies , was the best she can come up with.
As the woman began to stand up once again , silence filled the room. Everyone was eager to learn what was going on and the Corsairs where loosing their patience.
" There is no need to state the obvious for you all. " - She began. This time , however , her tone wasn't so confident and has lost some of it's power.
" The person for which this court martial was meant has disappeared , along side one of our Carriers. The ship , it's entire crew and most of all , it's supposed commander - Aki Kimura are now the only thing The Order will concentrate on. "
" At this moment , nothing can be said for sure and let us not look for who's fault is this , instead we need to locate the person in question as fast as possible. For that very same reason , the Grand Admiral left in such a hurry. On his behalf , I apologize. "
" Since many of the Elders of Crete are present here , I ask them to speak now if they wish to discuss anything concerning our alliance. I have been asked to clear all doubt , all gossip and all speculations about The Order's position towards the Corsair Empire. "
