as I said, what you see are the pads. the hangar isn't visible; it is behind closed gates - cant see them on those perspective, but they are in front of the opening.
' Wrote:If it were up to me, I'd close in that center section, and add two long launch bays along the sides of the ship. Spacecraft are built more like submarines than surface ships, you have to have some way of keeping everything inside that you dont want blowing out into space.
How exactly do pilots get to their ships if those ships are in a bay that's open to space?
I would imagine the runway is for them to land on, but once the fighters are pulled inside of the carrier they would be taken down inside of the ship, to a closed off area.
Sorry man, but those textures do not fit Liberty in any way shape or form. Not only is the colouration completely wrong, but the actual detail work does not integrate with the current texture line.
The model itself could stand for some improvements, but as a whole its conceptually agreeable.
When you change the colour of a texture you change more than just the colour, you change the effect of certain light spectrums on it, you bring details that sometimes are often left wihtout emphasis, or conversey you hide details that are normally present.
Looking at it already you can see that it appears brighter. You make more of the finer points of it, its not pleasant to the eye. Compounding the issue is that you haven't matched the texture mapping style used on previous Liberty ships. It doesn't integrate seamlessly.
The texture scaling makes it feel like it should be fighter sized, especially the ventral engine pod. It needs a complete overhaul to be honest.
Actually , I like this model a lot and completely agree that the old , new one is very ugly , unfitting , clumsy and looks silly.
I like the white scheme , seems to fit very well.
Only thing that I would like to see some improvement over is that engine. It look too , stripped and basicly is just a tube at the moment. Perhaps add something to it ?
I like this model, it looks a lot more Libertonian than the current one. It looks a lot like the Dreadnought, but I suppose that's a good thing. Turkish is right, though, the first thing I noticed was that the textures on the engine looked off. The colour of the ship reminds me of the Upholder, I don't think its' so much of a bad thing. I think it kinda gives it a 'newer generation' feel.
Aidan, I laugh. I find your comment full of drama that no one else see. All of this is intentional, and I like it this way or I wouldn't of posted. I didn't do 12 models for nothing.
I'm not remaking the texture, it's hard as it is, and I needed to add a new feeling to the ship.
