This I was unaware of. Now if one could just get the Collector to face a target head-on in a 1v1 we'd be all set.
Quote:The 700 m/s ones are turrets, just like say vanilla Salamanca turret had 700m/s. Per request it was synced with normal guns at 600 m/s. I did the same for junker high level turrets by myself, but I can put the turrets back if you really want. Guns will keep 600 m/s.
Fine, we'll keep the Barrager at 600m/s. We'll try to address this issue from faction equipment made in Discovery.
Quote:If you don't want more damage then it won't get more. But right now it's a decent gun.
On its own, it's a good gun. Put it on a ship that can't keep targets of its class centered and it's incompatible. And you know full well the issue is not the damage, but the ability for the faction's ships to keep those guns on target.
You're right, I was wrong. The issue is not the gun but something else.
Quote:Sure fly Sabres with Krakens if you so much want to. Still won't give you better stuff when used as an argument.
I think it's unfortunate that as a faction leader my input regarding the ships and weapons we're intended to fly, fight and RP in is disregarded so readily.
Quote:It was bugged so that it was basically impossible to hit outside 1vs1. Now with the proper hitbox it's smaller 1vs1 but at least hittable outside.
So we can talk about rebalancing it as it's fixed now.

ya...something about that lurked in my mind but i couldn't remember what...i completely forgot that vanilla hitbox was strange...and yes...bloody Bastet made us insane until we got it to work:)

Talk about rebalancing is one thing. Using the "up our ships or we uses OORP ones" argument won't convince me though.
So far it's junkers that want their ships upped. (Never heard of a faction that would want own ships nerfed btw..). When their enemies/neutral will share the same opinion there might be something that needs change. Right now it doesn't seem this way.

Guess I'll start collecting reports from people that fight Collectors on a regular basis, then. I'm just speaking based on observation and polling other Junker players, but you're right. I should collect opinions from a larger poll group. Stay tuned.
As it is, there IS a large disparity between the Barrager and its intended usage on the Collector. I'm not letting that one go.
I love the Collector and can win in it sometimes but it is owned by a decent pilot in a more maneuverable fighter (almost all of them). I still fly it and use it but its disadvantaged.
THe Recycler originally was designed as a hybrid bomber with more balanced capabilities but it was nerfed in every category for fear it would be "uber". As a result, it excels in NO category. Still I love and fly it but it ain't gonna beat a good pilot. The Recycler also was proposed with a weaker shield and toned down power in exchange for a third torp. Instead the torp was dropped and the reduced stats left.
The ship design of these two ships (and the CSV) suggests they should have a good "spin" rate--meaning the ability to pivot around their center of gravity. Can this be increased? That would be very helpful as it would give them a chance to bring their weps to bear before being blasted.
The Collector is an interesting ship to fly. Can just eat firepower for an eternity, but has difficulty dodging it. Lasts as long as a fast ship in a fight.
I say this as someone who has flown against them a lot. All in all I think a few things about the junker gear needs a bit of a boost.
That said. The only thing more annoying then a lagging collector is a lagging LF.

Interesting, mind showing and documenting? Somehow I don't seem to recall any of this. I did, however, found a thread on dev forum with 11 vs 0 votes for current stats.
Don't see any "reduced stats" as well as a "weaker shield".
Right now it is basically simillar to Mjolnir SHF except it has 2 Torp slots instead of 1 torp + 1CD. Now every other person was 100% sure how Mjolnir is uber, surely Recycler is then uber too?
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
Doesn't the Mjolnir suck? In that furball in Berlin today, 3 or 4 Mjolnirs rolled on in every now and then, and lasted about 2 minutes each. The bombers lasted way longer. I'm not exactly sure what the benefit of the SHF is compared to bombers? More regens and a bigger shield sure, but when you're the size of a gunboat and you still die to one SN, doesn't really count for a whole lot. Never fought a Mjol 1 on 1 though, if it's turning is significantly better than the Recycler like this guy says, maybe it can do alright for itself.
But yeah I distinctly remember a 3 torp-slot junker bomber (with no guns at all I might add) got shouted down for being 'way too good'. Now we have a 3 torp slot bomber with guns, for another faction, and it's fine?
