Make it a Skype chat of all Outcasts (it could get messy though)

There is one for all Outcasts, but I'm not putting this stuff in there.

There's the old "too many cooks" adage to consider. Plus, after the first group that sees it, it'll get pushed back into the void of Things No One Remembers by the next three hours of general chatting that's almost certainly not about it.

I'm loving the Honored Guest Idea. Also it should be a responsibility of the people that feel they should be on the list, to make sure their name is on the list. Good post buddy.

I've been playing with this idea for a while now: I wanted to create a thread which would include the following:
- Outcast lore
- Cardamine lore
- Laws & regulations
- List of factions & their leaders
- Outcast diplomacy & the Council of Dons
- List of important links to other OC-related threads
- Outcast F.A.Q.

Central Outcast Skype channel could quickly get messy, but how about IRC channel? IRC is much more suited to mass chat and could also act as a emergency channel in case of an attack.

Personally i would prefer a TeamSpeak server. I cant believe you guys are still living in the 20th century! Come on now, move into the modern era :D

Seriously though, I have used TS on Eve since 2003 and I have to say its probably the most valuable tool we used. Clear and concise coommunication at the speed of thought. I'd be quite happy to rent a server for outcast use, can add specific faction channels and private rooms as needed.
I am aware that a lot of foriegn players are cautious of teamspeak as they feel their accents may be hard to understand or the subject of ridicule when speaking English. Well, I am English, and I sound like a complete and utter muppet on TS :D

Edit: Oh and Thexare, thanks for taking an active interest in this my old mucker.

I despise using voice communications. I'm fine face-to-face, but microphones, telephones, anything of the sort? Hell no. I will walk across town in the rain to avoid talking on the phone - which is, I must add, a real example.

Anyway, the diplomacy's pretty straightforward, other than the Bretonia situation which we can't enforce anyway thanks a lot admins so there's really no point in posting it. Outcast and Cardamine lore is already posted, but the topic was buried ages ago. I'll dig it up at some point.

Right now, though, getting the rules and organization hammered out seems like the most important part to me.

Yeah it seems a lot of people are like that. I dont like the sound of my voice either but I have always found voice comms give a significant edge in multiplayer games. Organisation through good commumication is the key to victory in many situations both virtual and RL.
Still if theres any interest in it I will see if I can set it up for those who want it.

Not only the fact is that i lack a working reliable microphone, i think the internet would be better off without a squeaker online such as myself.

No one ever told me about the Skype Channel. And no one ever asked me if i want to be more in that role.
Well, i'd like to. I thought about joining a faction, but i dont think they will recruit a Destroyer. I often thought about what Outcasts really do, all i got was making pew pew with the Colonials or Corsairs. I searched in Disco Wiki about more infos, but didnt get any useful stuff, only that people are developing synthetic Cardamine at Atka which is bad for us, but no one does a thing against it. I tried to find more about the Nomad-Outcast relationship, but didnt get useful stuff either. I want to learn more, but it is almost impossible as Independent.

Something which brings Independents and Factions together would be awesome, for both Sides.

"Who is it doing this synthetic type of alpha beta psychedelic funkin'?"

I am not sure on any outcast rules at present having never found up to date ones listed byt can i over step the mark and ask for a couple to be considered? If they are not already active that is. They are all really to do with docking area and approaches to malta. It is our main trade port and needs a bit of policing at the moment.

Firstly NO DAMN SPEED DOCKING!!! Not only is it extremely annoying to watch. It is also (in RP) an extremely dangerous breech of safety protocol. Suggest a safe approach speed to be maintained from a set distance untill docked.

Second, No weapons to be discharged within a set distance of the planet unless in self defense or defense of Malta. I am sick and tired of seeing players undock and immediately start firing off their newly fitted weapons. And also for the same reasons as the first proposal.I am guilty of doing it myself in the past, but i can now understand just how irritating it really is.

Lastly, keep the docking rings and main approaches to it clear of idle ships. Everbody just undocks and sits there looking cool (ahem). Again for the same main reasons as the other points. I would say a minimum of 1500m for players RP guard duty so they can scan incoming and outgoing vessels. Of course you may then get everyone in system claiming they are the current guard.

This may all seem a bit petty but it really is turning to chaos out there sometimes at the moment. Maybe the Dons could assign certain players as port authority ( PA tag maybe? ) and make them responsible for policing within a certain range of all docking facilities, a little like a coatguard I guess. Some of us would be happy to accept the role as we sometimes have no other purpose;)

Edit: Or I guess maybe a small unofficial faction for now that has the blessing of the Dons and Factions to carry out this task
