' Wrote:Is the main body a dagger/scimitar or have you beefed it up a bit? Without a bit of extra mass it's pretty small for a bomber I suppose. The Roc's main body is bigger and longer than the Eagle.
I started with the Stiletto/Switchblade and built it from there. All BW ships have the same base shape and size, this I won't be changing.
I don't know if it's just the angle it was at before or if you actually changed the upper ring, but it looks a lot better in that last picture. The support thingy Jamez suggested fits pretty nicely, but perhaps tilt the lower part of it down a bit, so it isn't parallel? Not sure if that would look a little better or not, but it struck my eye as a bit of a hard angle the way it is now. Another possibility would be breaking it from two into three parts and "smoothing" it out that way. Up to you.
Definitely getting there, keep at it. Certainly a fine example of borderworlds shipbuilding, I would be proud to fly this ship.

I did change it slightly, I made it less rounded than before. It might be partly to do with the angle too. I can easily play around with the support thing, see if I can make it look a little better.

Aesthetically that's cool, I am just forseeing people complaining that this is just a sabre with a supernova. Maybe add bulk in other ways? Bearing in mind I love how it looks now, I am just looking at it from a gameplay perspective. I don't know though, maybe it's fine. There are some ridiculously small bombers in game.
Alright, now this is what I have been waiting for. A 'Sabre with bits added on' is what the BW/Outcast/Whatever bomber ought to be. You should probably edit the first post to include the updated model.
And I can't tell; on your new model, did you lengthen the nose? I do agree that the ship would look better with a slightly longer tip to it, and there is a precedent for it. I forget where the change is made, but the Sabre does have a longer nose than the Dagger (I just can't remember if this change is made from Dagger to Stiletto or from Stiletto to Sabre). So lengthening it a bit more for the bomber isn't such an alien idea.
EDIT: Mmm... I take it back. Looking at the other angles provided, the nose looks fine in proportion. I guess it was just that first picture that made it look a little stubby.

While it might be slightly skinnier, the Cutlass will likely be the same size as the Falcata. Like I said, the Falcata is a very popular ship, and I plan to make the Cutlass feel very much like the Falcata as I can.
As you can see it is roughly the same size as the Falcata anyway.
' Wrote:This model should replace the Falcata and be given an infocard that doesn't mention the Outcasts while Eppy's model is added as an Outcast Bomber.
I disagree. It would be much simpler to make the current Falcata the OC bomber and add the Cutlass as a new ship. The Falcata is also a Hispanic sword.
