Well the title says most of it, political parties in Sirius, It came as a sudden idea when looking at my country's internal party elections :-P.
So making "factions" in game would be a bit messy, ID issues, ship issues, etc. But in forums it would be interesting, not very sure how it could be implemented in game tough, this would even allow choosing for presidents (Im thinking like being in liberty) or it would help solving military or political issues between houses... hmm maybe this has been discussed later... So what do you think?
There are mounds of politics in game and in forums, you just have to look out for them, just recently (I'm unaware if it actually was scheduled correctly) the Queen of Bretonia made a trip to Rheinland to meet with Rheinland officials. Someone around here is actually the President of Liberty, there were elections once upon a time.
Don't even get me started on the Council of Zoners, theres lots of politics (And lots of oddities) to be found there.
Yes I know but they are not organized at politcal parties, I know there is president, a queen etc. But the point is like putting it to work like a real government, adn not politics alone
Most factions, would have internal politics to whatever degree. House governments would for the most part have their political parties. Liberals, Conservatives, Federalists, Angry Farmers, Bundschuh, Nomad-infestees, Etc. Many larger pirate groups would probably also have internal political dynamics, as is human nature.
Infact, the only factions that WOULDN'T have those sorts of differential politics include Nomads, Harvesters, Phantoms, etc, or factions that already are political parties in and of themselves (Bundschuh, Farmers' Alliance).
There's plenty of oppurtunity for more political RP, and it is welcome. Also, it gives something for factions such the Wilde and Consortium to play off of for their ongoing political manipulation schemes.
Disco politics are more than enough for me.
Personally I don't want to jump through hoops on the forums and then have to do the same ingame.
The idea has merit though. You will encounter some issues though. Namely, you couldn't really just order about Navy forces etc. You would be dependant on them for support.

Our slogan is "You know Nothing! Neither do We!"
If nominated, we will not run. If elected, we will not serve.
We will of course back Emperor Joshua Norton for King of Sirius, and Protector of Gallia.
That is all.
There's a flaw in your reasoning, and a bad taste from your seasoning. (Watch what you're putting in those hot dogs!) Emperor Joshua Norton is already the Emperor of Sirius - just ask him, he'll tell this is so. And as His Imperial Majesty, he already out-ranks some minor King.
