You do have to keep in mind that the ship had a bit of a loadout change unless I'm mistaken.
The Bretonian GB was originally designed with dual forward guns and a total of four turrets, obviously it was meant to be a large, slow ship but a very heavy hitter against caps.
EDIT: I would also like to observe that the Liberty cruiser was built like a gunboat, when you think about it it had fewer turrets, the only cruiser with a FWD gun and the only cruiser with missiles.
The thing is, every house ship is different. One house had to have the smallest destroyer, and it turned out to be Kusari. That's just the way it is, weater that's an advantage or a flaw it doesn't really matter. Everything has been made fair and levelled out as much as possibe for 4.85

Also, DA made them all without shields...if you took a KU dessie against a Bretonian GB, both without shields, they may be closer to each other...
Personally, I'd hate to fight a KU Dessie, having flown one in 4.84 and seen how ridiculously easy it is to dodge SNs and stuff in it. I don't think I've ever fought one, tho...
The Bretonian gunboat is weird yeh, I mean, you could make it into a light destroyer like the liberty cruiser (probably what it was intended for), but then Bretonia has no gunboat (though that doesnt bother me that much, effects privateers though).
The Forward gun on the Bretonian gunboat is REALLY big, compare it to say, the kusari gunboat forward gun, and it looks as if it could do as much damage as a Liberty cruiser. The shape is still also a SN magnet even as a Destroyer, the Kusari destroyer would still be superior in dodging/agility.
So yeah, I think it should be made into a destroyer, always have done.
PS: opps, off topic, well the kusari destroyer isnt broken in cap vs cap engagements, bit stupid against bombers and gunboats, and I can see battleships having a hard time, though not likely impossible at all, spam missiles? heh.

There are very talented modelers in this community. Somebody would make one shortly.

So you have flown one in 4.84.. never fought against anyone, yet you know how good/bad it is?
Maybe instead of rumors you could accept the offer and try a test fight?
As to Kusari dessie being "ridiculous vs bomber/fighters", yes it ridicoulously weak vs non-noobish ones. Ask Blodo if you want fighting advice.
@ changes from vanilla, well Kusari destroyer has two extra turrets which are not activated on flyable ships.
@ Bret GB, it kills any GB 1vs1 without trouble now and it's great for pirating. I don't see why a ship that costs 1/5 the price of a cruiser should be better and more armored that one. For the record it's even bigger than Corvo, Zoner Dessie or for example OC dessie from some aspects.
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
The Kusari Destroyer is an interesting one. First of all, it looks really neat, but that's another story. I've been in fights against a couple and they certainly seem much more fragile than Rheinland Cruisers. Not sure about Bretonian Destroyers, as I've truthfully never seen anyone using one.

Unless the handling was altered, I guess it'd still be as easy to dodge the slow weapons in one. I'd love to test fight...shame I deleted it with the arrival of the new mod, tho >.>
I didnt say it was "ridiculous vs bomber/fighters" which you quoted despite that not being said (unless someone else said that). I said it was a little bit stupid, as in, not really ideal to fight something GB sized. Requiring near ram to hit often with a SN, something Blodo pointed out as being annoying in a Bret bomber, ending up ramming the destroyer because if the appauling turning on the challenger, apart from that you just need a CD obviously. I didnt overstate it as an issue, its not that bad, I was just looking for a comment on the kusari destroyer to remain on topic.
The thing on the Bret gunboat becoming a destroyer, that was entirely from a RP point of view, the forward gun is unique to the bret gunboat (the giant cannon, not the fact its a forward gun), comparing it to the kusari forward gun is like comparing a truck mounted machine gun to a tank's cannon. It's a bit confusing, apparantly the Bretonian destroyer is vanila, but it wasnt included? (probably due to the strange look, unwanted model) I just see the bret gunboat being the bretonian Liberty cruiser, sort of a cool unique ship, DA didnt do things very linear.
the Bret gunboat comes across as a cruiser like ship, entirely unique from other gunboats, yet it cant exist in the gunboat category in disco without seeming out of place.
I take the issue as unlikely to be changed anyway, and I'm not looking for an uber ship, forgetting all balance I just wanted it to make more sense as a ship.
