True, tehe Shire is probably the best transport in terms of firepower. But turning can be a bitch and it's only reasonably available to BOWEX. It's a good ship though. Massive.

indeed a very nice ship to fight back.. but i rather be trading while trading and not fight.. pay of a pirate and be on my way... saves time=money.

There are many ways .. trading is the fastest i must admit but not the only way
The shire which you a reffering to, has the turn rate of a cruiser, and is an utter nightmare to trade fast in, you better have a LOT of patience.
Though it is quite a powerful tranport, 4 shires could actually try taking on a cruiser.... but the whole point of it's power and armour, is that it's just utterly horrendus to handle, you have no idea how annoying it is to have to take 10 attempts, just to enter a tradelane or jumpgate.
Shire is sold in Newcastle system. I flew it for a while. Yes, you can blow up a bomber in it. I managed to destroy a Praetorian.
One thing would go to your aid is the nerf the bomber plants got. No more spamming debilitators and then shooting SNAC.
However, really, transports haven't got a chance against a competent bomber pilot. It's just mathematics: Transport turret range: 1100m
Supernova Antimatter Cannon range: 1950m
Unless you're in a dense asteroid field, you won't be able to reach him.
And in asteroids, you're not able to manouver one bit.
