Guys, I think with most pirates using the Rheinland Bomber, complete with two novas, the transport shield
and hull levels are just fine. If pirating was just done in fighters, maybe nerf it a little ...
As it is, lets leave them alone for now. The rest of it is up to the individuals to roleplay their parts ...
Hoodlum
Some say he is a proud member of: "The most paranoid group of people in the Community."
Speaking of bombers... I wish there were kinda more. I want to use a RH bomber, but its basically out of HF's RP. Could someone make a liberty Bomber with the same stats? I dunno, just an idea.
I am a long-absent Supreme Commander, Executive Commander, Grand Admiral, Fleet Admiral, and Captain in the mighty Hellfire Legion. I have returned, and am on an urgent mission from Drake Thastus to return the Legion to its former glory, and to claim the galaxy for its own. Only then will I be able to rest.
RP Story (Still deciding whether or not to finish)
@Best Flyer. Aye, poat that in the Rheinland bom,ber topic. Get more people for making more bombers...
@Everyone Else. I have a great Idea. Would a company such a universal shipping sell a Large train to a lowly Freelancer? I would think not! Make it so that ANYTHING with a cargo value higher then 1000 cannot be bought by a Freelancer or Neutral ID! It would solve ALOT of Rp issues.
@Orrin; The CDs don't need more powerful, they need to be faster. They go SLOWER than 350m/s. Even though some say 800 or so. If you engine kill in cruise and fire one, within 3 seconds your past it.
Also, the IND aren't exactly moving just because TBF uses Corfu as a home. It was a subtle insult by both Marauder and Hoodlum that most people here won't catch. Makes my opinions about them go down a notch farther, even though they are well past the line of people I'd call decent..
They know full well AW told them they weren't allowed to attack or tax in Theta. Marauder and Hoodlum are just using this situation to flame me some more. Or did you not read Marauder's GNN post telling me where I can and can't go on the server? (BTW Marauder, **** off I'll go wherever I damn well please. You can't restrict me from Stuttgart. You can't order me around till your an admin, and we know that'll never happen.)
BTW, wasn't RH Bomber disallowed to be pirated in now? Or were the admins still thinking about it?
BTW I believe the Gentleman's Rule about trading is that you shouldn't dock somewhere when being chased, until you reach the original destination. So if I'm doing a route between Cambridge and New Berlin, I shouldn't dock Freistdadt in Omega-7. I should head to Planet New Berlin, trying to dodge the pirate(s) behind me.
Most of the traders now, will even F1 to get away. F1, or insta-dock the mooring ports on planets and stations and just sit for an entire HOUR to get safe. An hour they could have used to make 25x what they would give to the pirate.
There does need to be a rule against traders docking and sitting for hours. It getts mighty annoying if your a pirate. I for one have never done that and never will. (Dab can confirm that, from the few tiems he has tried to attack me in 37.)
@Dab: Pull your head in. I can tell you the decision for IND to pull up stumps out of Theta had nothing to do with you personally. Plz have a read of the [IND] business thread... we all decided on it not just Marauder and Hoodlum. Anyway Hoodlum's title as "CEO" gives him no real authority, just the paperwork.... not that the fine chap ever would, but if he started to try and lord it over us, let's just say the air outside Newark station is a little thin without an env-suit....
Anyway back to pirating. I want to iterate that if a pirate ever made a reasonable demand of my trader, I would comply. If I were in cruise, I would drop out as if I were disrupted. Nor would I speeddock. I would hand over the cash, wish them a nice day, and drown my sorrows later.
Of course a reasonable demand means (say) < $5m, not $100m or something ridiculous. AND *if* they started shooting me first, before making a demand, they can get stuffed... watch my contrail across Sirius or watch my ship explode, w/e.
Personally, I keep my eyes open when I am trading.
I use the 'long range radar' to see who is where, so I mostly manage to stay out of systems where 'suspicious' people are.
If I do actually get caught, ask me for cargo instead of money, what trader with a half a brain is going to let a Pirate anywhere near the 'electronic codes' for their bank account.

I was guessing, I never aculy measured how much I make on my trade run, or how long it takes.... Hmm.. I will do that now:D
FYI, the Cambridge Run makes $2745 PROFIT per cargo unit, so in a large train you end up with roughly $12,352,500 PROFIT per run (minus losses on Alien Organisms) and a run takes around 18-20 minutes (if you go around the Star and not right past it), so aproximately $37 million in an hour (minus repairs)
The formula I used follows:
Item Sold at - Item Bought at = Profit
Do that for both items carried then add Profit1 + Profit2 = Profit 3 (combined profit)

There have been some requests for new bombers, I am working on a BHG one right now. I will have prelimanary designs posted in the decelopers forum. I would apreciate most any comment. (read the fine print, please)
