that is a horribly sad picture you re painting of the disco community. personally - i tend to run mostly into people who enjoy playing the game - and which seem to have enough brainpower to be open minded and trying hard to fit in.

I'm beginning to think that my chances of finding anyone on this server with more brainpower than a tazer'd monkey are lower than my chances of being struck by lightning. Then again, I did almost get struck by lightning...
You're obviously playing in the wrong part of Sirius. Perhaps it's time for a change?
Well in my opinoin you can nerf Isis. Maybe it would be better. Im not playing in order anymore but it would incrase RP a lot more. But if you nerf it you have to add 1 more BS to the Minor JH in Delta to prevent BHG caps to go to MInor and pwn all Order players which try to RP there. I saw it more than 6 times. Order RP .... BHG BS's (mostly 3) come and kill a few fighters -> Order hides at Isis -> BHg capwhores call us cowards and start shhoting at the planet. Well this cant be in Rp actualy. The order should not hide and the BHg should not bring any caps ( no GS no dessi no BC and no BS) to Minor ever. Nerf Isis so fighters can fight and dodge in its range if this is what you want but then let the caps at the door and if you dont want to stop the capwhoring then dont complain.
Tenacity, when you think this, why are you here?i dont think that normal
human will play somewhere, where he dont like it.
And sorry, only because you dont like the idea about corsairs helping order, doesnt mean that it is stupid idea at all...
In rp what you think order will make when they can not solve bh problem?ask ally, and who is the stromgest and closest ally? Gmg?dragons?or zoners?
(and when you read my post above, you can read that i typed about fighter/bomber wings, not caps)
but anyway,i totally agree with exile,it is not fun flyimg trough minor in vhf, with 2 dessies on tail only screaming:kill him!!!
Flying to fight, and then running to issis when loosing is so much oorp as bh caps in minor...
"The order should not hide and the BHg should not bring any caps ( no GS no dessi no BC and no BS) to Minor ever."
you are aware that you wish for a very boring game there, do you? - i am sure that.... if the order as a whole is truely annoyed ( rather than having fun ) with the BHG / order WAR. - that issue can be resolved. from reading that - one gets the impression that no one is actually "enjoying" RPing the war - when it was put into the game for the sake of the players to give them an enjoyable RP basis.
yes, you can RP the order vanilla style, in secrecy - mostly as a loner, talking to other factions etc. - but thats about as interesting as being a zoner without ANY conflicts. - what spices up being a zoner is that they live in permanent conflict with other factions, with themselves and with their idea of being zoners. - take away the conflicts and you re left with a very boring faction that even the NPCs would leave if they could.
warships are part of the mod, and i WISH that people would accept that its fun to not only play - but also to fight them.
in the past it was propagated that its such a very very bad thing that "to fight a battleship, you MUST deploy a battleship" - the result is that bombers were made powerful enough so "you don t need to take out your battleship"
and slowly - an attitude evolved that labelled warships to be "bad" - and people are afraid of major warship engagements - even those that never even had a REAL major warship battle ( a 1 vs 1 or a 2 vs 2 is still nothing - try a 10 vs. 10 for a change )
minor is hardly a locked up place. - omicron-100 is. - minor is CLOSE - and the jumphole from delta is hardly what you can call "hidden" ( with all the weaponplatforms around it ). - you should try to enjoy engagements.
i am 100% sure that the BHG| ( official faction ) will NOT take out their warships to "camp toledo when its only one little puny fighter around that just needs to retreat to isis". - matter of fact, i d be surprised if the BHG| ever came to toledo with a capital ship spam when there was an inappropriate defense around.
point is - try to enjoy large ships as much as you enjoy small ships. - thats only fair. - a dogfight between 2 fighter aces is an awesome thing to do and to watch. - but so is a fight among fleets of capital warships. ( personally, i LOVE watching battleships engage each other - there s just a lot more to look - and it just is a lot more epical to see a battleship blow up. - and yes - when 2 bombers engage a battleship, and i am watch ing, i am usually FOR the weaker side ( thats the battleship:P) - but seriously guys - you should be happy that you have a war. - that gives your faction something to reasonably fight without making strange diplomacy constructions to gain an enemy )
If ya ever come to tau 23, check what guns are Java and Cali packing. Just strong regulars and pulsies. Enough to make any cap wish he never got close. Smaller stuff like bombers can survive in the vicinity no sweat though. Nowhere near to those insta-smashing guns. Sure, if you sleeo over, you'll get smacked hard, but it's not like... you go in a short straight line after a joust and eat a mortar fired by a godlike sniper-gunner on the AI-controlled battleship.

Or like...undocking from Dabadoru and finding that whole Order fleet has surrounded dabadoru(for god sake's it should be a secret base as far as i know)...im not talking about fighters and bombers,im talking about carrier and osiris class ships...
Then after you call for backup, all of their ship's instantly hit their cruise engines and head towards Minor...to be precise...behind Isis
Leave the Osiris as is. Sure it gets exploited and it's irritating, but you can't have everything. That said, the defenses of other stations and stationary BSes could be buffed. Dabadoru is sort of forlorn in this regard. Hiding within close proximity of that station won't help you much against a group of hostile, cap heavy forces (yes, that has happened).
And as far as station/stationary BSes go, it would be nice to see some better anti-aircraft capabilities. Fighters and bombers need that special lovin' too. Flying near a hostile base should be a breathtaking experience for enemy pilots of all persuasions.
@Order players: Could you tell us who these Toledo campers are and what they're flying? There is currently at least 2 BHBS pilots that are on our "Dirt Nap" list. I'm curious to know if those two are amongst the campers. I would also like to know your definition of "camping" since anything larger than an Orca is going to have serious trouble surving near Toledo.
And on another note, that wonderfully old fighter / capship debate - the everlasting struggle between the "skilled" players and the "noobs". The ancient conflict between the forces of "industrial-strength rp" and "rp-lite". In my opinion, both ship classes need skill to use with a measure of success - albeit some of the skill sets are different. No need painting everyone with a broad brush. Those who desire pvp above all things should learn to compromise and respect the game play of others. Those who are more deeply invested in role playing need to understand that not everyone has the time or talent to attain that level of rp they exercise.
As a parting "shot", a reminder to friend and foe alike about the BH gs: It's made for taking out fighters and bombers. It is not invulnerable. It is not the "checkmate move". It's a dinky gunship with a pittance of armor and a relatively large side profile. So stop the hand wringing and play the game.
