' Wrote:It's not out yet but it's Star Wars: The Old Republic. Supposedly they arn't making a KotOR 3 (who knows) but if they arn't than The Old Republic game is pretty much it's sequel and its online and messes the whole KotOR series. But thats just my opinion
Judging a game as the "worst game ever" (or the best, for that matter) before you play it is stupid. I do not want to be insulting, but there's no better way to describe it. That's what leads to a lot of disappointments and a lot of people missing out on some very good games.

On the disappointment end, I just remembered one. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Creepy-ass kids (it would've worked in Windwaker, but not with the TP style), crappy horseback combat, an annoying gimmick, and an equally annoying world. I don't want to harp on one point, especially a visual one, but god damn those kids creeped me out. Like something right out of Baroque, only it would've fit in there. Boring first dungeon and I just couldn't make myself care enough to slog through to the next.

Which is a shame, because I really wanted to like it. The Legend of Zelda was one of my first video games, and I've always been a fan of the series. But TP just wasn't fun for me.

Halo 2 was pretty bad. I loved the first one, but the second felt really run of the mill. The graphics they had tried to improve so much that it actually looked pretty bad, the setting no longer felt sci-fi-ish, the only real gameplay improvement was the ability to dual wield, and trying to integrate the Covenant into the game was an unsuccessful venture, in my opinion. Not to mention how multiplayer is full of screaming 10-year-olds trying to be tough.

The Game. Seriously, it sucks.

Seriously I don't get why people say that. From my experience with H2 on XBL (3 Years Almost) I had very few of those encounters. More so its from people who are older. Which is sad. Maybe because I played Custom Games more then matchmaking. But still even when I did go on Matchmaking/public games I had few of those encounters.

Its mostly Halo 3 since the Custom Games there are run completely by the annoying and rather cumbersome method of the 360 friends list as opposed to "Hit Y, oh! A game! *join*". Thus, all the kids whose parents thought it was a good idea to buy a game 12 years ahead of the recommended age are in Matchmaking roflraging and thinking they have a meaning to their eight year life span.

Really though, you're lucky. I seriously hate hearing freakin' Mickey Mouse, "Hoo-hoo! Hee-hee! Zomg! I pwnt u! Lulz! U suq, I'm MLG!"

Star Fox Adventures has to be the worst disappointment of my life, and Assault just mimicked it with a more space-ey feel to it.

Damn it, I wanted to shoot armies of space-monkeys on a classic arcade rail and score ludicrous amounts of points while I never seemed to die.

This is probably because I am a rabid fan of said series, but....

Other than that I really haven't bought a game that didn't give me what I expected.

ok

I hear ya on Adventures, Salem, but I liked Assault.

Except for the tank sections. Those can go die in a fire.

I thought the on-foot portions actually controlled really well; whether they fit in the series or not is up for debate, but I liked 'em enough. And the Arwing controls felt really solid, much better than in Starfox 64 - although that may have been because N64 controllers suck.

I'd have preferred something more like Starfox 64, but I had fun with Assault anyway.

Whoever thought the generic "omg evil aliens" crap was a good idea should be clubbed, though. If you're going to be uncreative, at least stick with the normal routine (that is to say, evil monkey man). And give us a real Star Wolf fight next time, not that level 3 cop-out crap. Yeah, not fighting them later on made sense, given the story, but I still missed the Boise Outpost and Venom 2 battles...

I loved Lylat Wars (SF64)... Command was pretty good too. (I liked Command for the fact that you have to REALLY TRY HARD to get the same storyline and outcome every replay.)

The only problem I have with the series is that I want to actually run the risk of dying a painful, fiery death when I go up against a ship of equal capacity - NPC-controlled or not.

The tank sessions drove me NUTS AND A HALF. I agree with you 100% on that.
