One thing - people should watch the chat, just in case someone else was flying a ship that got destroyed...so it doesn't get used again for re engaging. Although I ve never come across this happening, people should communicate with each other.

The Wellesley is a starflea. Getting upgraded as soon as time allows. Maybe Ill just re start it on a separate account. Perhaps my crew might find a more appropriate command vessel, as I have come to know them "intimately".

I think you might find difficulties if you have more than one ship per account. It does happen that Bretonia is under threat on two or more fronts at once, and if there are multiple ships on one account, only one can ever be used at one time.

So for a fast response to possible multiple threats - 1 ship per account

But then we have maybe 15 accounts.

Not feasible.

1 Dessie, 1 GB, 1 bomber per account.

Likely 6 accounts, now. Plenty.

He's got a point with the ranks though. I'd have access to six destroyers that I wouldn't be allowed to fly. That's a lot of destroyers for a man to ignore all at once.

The best solution would be, giving FAM the capability to use groups / directories, preferrably with multiple levels. That way I wouldn't mind 16 extra accounts, if it looked something like this in FAM:

 [+] Gunboats
 [+] Bombers

That won't be anytime soon though. I'll give it as an idea / feature request to Korrd though. Or maybe someone already did ... *hopes*

Are we abandoning individual character bombers then or are these bombers just going to be a few spare ones for those who don't have their own? I'm not sure I'm keen on the idea of different people RPing the same bomber pilot as they will undoubtedly provide different RP and if they have access to many different characters no single one will ever get proper character RP development or a personality. Perhaps just a few shared bombers on separate accounts for occasional use?

As for the caps, could I suggest a system where not everyone gets access to all the accounts but where particular individuals are either paired or grouped together. E.g.:

Account1:
HMS-Destroyer
HMS-Gunboat

which would be shared between 1 Lt Commander (can only use GB, RPs the Executive Officer), 1 Commander (RPs a GB Commanding Officer and a Destroyer XO - both Commanders) and 1 either Captain / Commodore / Admiral (who would RP a Captain that may act as CO on either ship or just RP their Commodore / Admiral being aboard and directing the ship).

This would have the following benefits:
- Allows each player to maintain the individual identity of their character in good RP development
- Makes it easier to know which player was using a given ship
- Prevents the over-deployment of caps by giving everyone of rank access to everything
- Opens the door to a mentoring system of senior to mid officers

Also keep 2 / 3 other accounts with our Battleships that are shared between the Flag Officers on a similar basis (every Commodore and Admiral could have access to the Pendragon account + one other BS to make it possible to deploy 2 if neccessary)

I would be happy to work on trying to pair the officers so that everyone of rank gets access to the ships they deserve, though perhaps make it so that new Lt Commanders have to earn the honour before being added to the sharing system as there would still be restrictions on how many slots were available if we were to pair ships.
