The First Battle of Tuvalu occurred in late 817 AS in Omicron Delta and was the first major engagement in the Omicron Wars in which the capital fleets of the Order and the Guild Core met in open battle.
Elements of the Guild Core's Isurus, Thrinax and Sphyrna battlegroups from Omega 56 under the command of Guildmasters Joosua Elonen and Max Jones rendezvoused with the garrison of Dabadoru Station to the south-east of the planet, and moved northwards en route to the tip of the Kribati Asteroid Field before proceeding onwards to Omicron Lost.
An assembled Order task force, having received an alert from their Corsair allies of the Core's manouveres, struck southwards from Omicron Minor, and launched an attack from the north-west as the Core fleet passed the wreck of the Sitia, a well-known land-mark in this otherwise remote sector of an already inhospitable and sparsely populated system.

This event will occur in the weekly battle slot on Sunday next at 2000GMT.
Ships are capital ships only.
There is a limit of three battleships for each side.
The remainder will be numerically balanced forces of cruiser, carriers and battlecruisers.
No gunboats or anything smaller.
All participants should post here stating their intention to participate.
Any further discussion of this event and all posts here should be role-play posts. Out of role-play posts will be deleted without warning.

Over the next week, the ship and crew will undergo a thorough inspection and loadout upgrades to ensure worthiness of combat. As a result, it will be be unavailable for patrols in the Delta system and will remain docked at Dabadoru unless it is taken out for weapons testing in preparation for the event.
