I am asking this, The Lane Hackers are usually ex-Ageira employees and very good at what they do, and have good knowledge of the workings of the trade lane technology right?
My question is this, how come they haven't caught a shipment of parts and found a way to break the security? Surely they have good knowledge in how they work, and a fair idea of how to circumvent the security.
I mean in security terms, every security has a flaw no matter how complex. Computers can also be tricked, they can't distinguish things like smart computers I'd assume.
If they DID manage to crack the security, I can see that parts being sold at a huge price to the Outcasts and other large pirate organizations. Can you imagine, the pirate factions with basic trade lane technology?
Its risky, but I think the pirate forces have more than enough resources to defend their lanes from lawful forces.
Yes, sounds reasonable as a future project.
The only problem I see is players disliking the whole tradelane concept as-is. So we could start it simple... with "gate/lane parts" trading and similar stuff being enabled to pirates
