Care to explain yourself? If you aren't going to make clear posts, and just take cloak and dagger stabs at people, use PMs. That's what they're for.
Unfortunately, as I've said, I don't see the problem here. Yes, Shagohad's character is not human, and yes, he does have ingame RP for it. But what he did not have is an AI ID, which is required for it to be flown.
Quote:I'm terribly sorry for what happened to you mate, and especially because I used to tell Geisha that common sense is enough to avoid sanctions. Guess I was wrong
You aren't wrong, Balth. What has occurred here is that the person who was sanctioned did not use common sense, and was thus sanctioned. He knew that his character required a Special RP Request, but instead of waiting for it to be processed patiently, he jumped the gun and decided to RP it anyways, flying a ship without a proper ID. Anyone else caught like that would have been sanctioned as well.
I do sympathize with fact that the admins have been taking a rather long time deliberating certain Special RP requests, and personally that it should not take that long. But I have little sympathy for why you were sanctioned, as there is no doubt that you were on the wrong side of the road.

' Wrote:Indeed, HUMANS shouldn't pilot it, but that's not the case here, just an AI who happens to have a Zoner Guard ID for convenience. If you'd ask me, he became the victim of a jealous cry-baby who just reports people for kicks.
The Nomad Gunboat shouldn't be piloted by humans either, but since I'm RPing a Nomad it should be fine. While I'm waiting for the special RP request to go through I'll just fly it with a pirate ID. Sounds good, right?
The only difference I see here is that you can buy the Harvester Cruiser without admin help (an unfortunate oversight, in my opinion, but that's another story). Other than that, it's just like the Barge, the Necrosis, etc...
The idea of the special RP request is that you have to prove yourself before getting access to things. Getting access to things and then finding out if its okay is, um, silly. If the admins decided to deny your request, what then? An "unworthy" person got to fly the ship for a month or so anyway?
RP first, ship later. Sometimes it can catch people with good intentions, but without it... well, I've heard a few stories about when all Nomad ships could be bought publicly and the Mercenary ID allowed battleships. In the name of freedom.
If you keep a good attitude, ask nicely, and have the RP to justify the ship, they'll let you out to RP your pretty Harvester Cruiser. If not, then too bad, you shouldn't be flying the ship.
On a related note, about the comment how you can't pick a different ship while in Bastille- tell them what ship you want to change to, convince them you're sorry for the misunderstanding, and they'll beam you there. If you try to pull a fast one on them then you can expect to rot in Bastille for a long time.
I do think that the ship should have big red letters at the top saying "AI ID only" like the Barge has for "DO NOT DOCK WITH PLANETS". I took a look at the infocard with FLEd-ids and couldn't tell it required a special RP request. As such, I don't think they should rip your guns off or fine you for not knowing and stuff like that, but dropping you in Bastille until you can tell them what's up is the right move. Letting you fly a restricted ship without going through the process everyone else does just because of a small pool of "good impressions" (which do not appear to be unanimous, if I might add) would be a bigger abuse of power than gently keeping you from flying a ship you shouldn't have... by a long shot. Sorry that you didn't know, but from what you've said it looks like the closest thing to an admin mishap here is that you were able to buy the ship in the first place.
EDIT: Special RP requests appear to be back in business, on at least a small scale. A few of them have been approved in the past week or so, it's worth a try. If your RP is as good as you say, you shouldn't have a problem- especially with the blessing of the Harvesters.

Well he 'was' playing an AI. And that pretty good. I liked it. It's not like he was not patience enough for a special role play permission. Or is the ship infocard saying that it is only allowed to be flwown with an AI ID?
I dont know. But whats so bad on a Zoner AI?
"Who is it doing this synthetic type of alpha beta psychedelic funkin'?"
I'm still amazed how the Harvesters got their own ID and ships in this mod. They were quite the minor annoyance faction that would get sanctioned often. And yet here they are ... somebody's got some friends on high places.
What are you on about Sovereign? What does that link have to do with my point? And how is my being "amazed" interpreted as whining? Not saying they shouldn't have their ID and ships ... just strange how it came about ... not to mention that the ONLY people allowed to have the ID and ships are the members of the Harvesters. I remember a couple years back I was told I could not have an ID for my faction because they would be irrelevant to others who downloaded and installed their own Disco servers. Whatever ... I think it has more to do with whether you have friends or not.
I think the main problems here were Shagohad's impatience and an overworked admin team taking a while to get through Special RP requests. It's been awhile since there have been new admins (that have been voted on, Cannon doesn't count)...

The Harvesters always disliked the admins.
Personally, I always found Del (and Hoodlum) very correct, all other admins lost any interest of helping the Harvesters whatsoever.
Ain't my business, as I'm personally done with the Harvesters, but you should review your statements before you claim superior knowledge.
Besides, this thread has nothing to do with Harvesters, but the AI-Shipline rules.
Ontopic: No, the harvesters are not the only ones allowed to fly those ships. Close friends of the Admins can also fly them.
The Harvesters lost any superior claim of those ships. (once the Spec. RP section is opened again you will be able to fly them too)

That's why I either quote or start my responses with "@ ForumName:" It avoids the whole interpretation problem. I just wanted clarification ... is there a serious issue with me wondering if he was talking to me?

The AI shipline came about because of the Harvesters. And they are described as "Harvester" vessels. I've seen sanctions for people having that ship/ID when they weren't a member of the Harvesters.
And I don't claim superior knowledge ... but I've been around much longer than the Harvesters ... and yes I remember they butted heads with admins (hence my comment about them getting sanctioned often). But like I said earlier ... other factions a couple years ago (including mine) requested their own special ID but were denied it. And we were given some lame reasoning why they were denied. Then we find "certain" factions were given their own special ID's ... mind's gotta wonder why some were granted and some were denied.
