Found a new nice genre... text based game. The trick is - no multiplayer (hence no retardation)
Has any of you played FIFA manager 08?
And dont you think its too hard?
I need some serious help, I dont know what Im doing wrong. I've lost now maybe 13 matches in a row and Im yet to have a win. My team is last on the chart and the closest team still beats me 13 pts. to 2 pts. on chart.
I had two draws and even one victory (though that was in different tournament, I didnt pass 2nd round) but all the good stuff was in the beggining. I dont know what Im doing wrong, there has to be something. I set different formations, compare players to make sure the best are on the field. I try to set movement in the field, but they still seem to not support each other in attack. Maybe some change in tactics is in order. Worst thing is that the AI manager is also failing, so perhaps its not my fault? Maybe the mistake was to create my own team from scratch. I wanted to be bad, but I wanted my adversaries to be bad too. Little league, ya kno?
Get Football Manager 2009. EA Games are the ultimate failure in making manager games, and regular FIFA aren't that much better.
But that's not really advice.
As for this, perhaps the mistake is that you created your team, perhaps you didn't balance it right.
Try playing with a "real" team and see if the same thing repeats itself.

I still play CM2 01 02 with squad updates. The new management games even ask me if I want to mash potatoes or lick the grass to get the pantone green tone.
I'm not going to diss a game, because I dont like the developer. Actually it's pretty good if a little rough around the edges. AI screws up at times, but I like watching 3D matches and the managing aspect is what I wanted a long time ago.
I created my team again and managed to get better players. Watched my assistant coach shift tactics and got the hang of it. I still finish in 3rd quarter of the season but things aren't bad. Some you win, some you loose.
What I wanted to ask is.. are there any other games of this type? I like managing aspect. Text based games in single player is my new drug right now. I didn't find much so far. Though I might try this Pro Cycling Manager. Sounds weird, though. Have you played any other cool manager games? Give me a suggestion and I'll be sure to check it out.
